Moto SLVR Itunes question

My laptop isn't recognizing my SLVR. It says there's no drivers for this device even though it worked a week ago. I have a microSD card adapter to let me plug it into my laptop as a large SD card. Can I just transfer the playlist over to the card to get my updated playlist on the card and get it to play on the SLVR? I plugged it in earlier for a few minutes before I had to come to work and couldn't figure anything out. Any help is appreciated.

I've had the best luck connecting the phone in USB mode, copying the songs to the phone's drive letter, and then using Mototunes to read/update the playlist/library.
