Hello, I'm new to the forum (and cell-phone ownership in general). I am using an LG 8100 and have been struggling to get mp3s, currently on my computer, onto my phone for use as ringtones. I have transferred them to the SD card, but when I try to manipulate the files when the card is back in the phone (e.g. try to "copy" so I can place them in my ringtones folder), it says "unable to transfer this file type".

All of the threads I visit seem to suggest that this program, Bitpm, is the only way to do this. So, my questions are:

1. Is this true? Is there really NO way to accomplish this task with the software built into the phone?

2. How trustworthy is this Bitpm? I don't want to wreck my phone after having owned it for less than 48 hours!

Any help in this matter would be very much appreciated.
