Recently bought a 903SH with a few very convenient abnormalities.

Well, I recently bought my second 903SH off a person from this forum, while waiting for the other one to be returned.

From the conversations we had on this forum via PM, I was informed it was unlocked with JP firmware which is all I wanted. However, after making the exchange, I've noticed a few very nice features so far which I'm certainly not going to complain about.

To begin with, my phone does NOT have reprovisioning. I was EXTREMELY happy, yet EXTREMELY surprised when it didn't appear.

Secondly, I have the java syncronization option just sitting there waiting for me in my Java options.

Thirdly, none of my Java apps are locked to the SIM it was downloaded on.

Everything else works flawless - calls, sms, mms, gprs, 3g internet, java apps, jp input, themes, answerphone, etc. However, I've noticed on startup and shutdown it takes slightly longer than I remember my other one taking.

Just wondering if anyone can give a suggestion as to why it might be like this, or how to get it this way? I certainly wouldn't mind my other one being the same.

1) you either have beta firmware or its just been temp removed..
2) whats suprising about this, this is from japanese firmware
3) this is new. cool. if you wer eto do a master reset on your phone. i think everything would revert back to normal.

Dont do a master reset.... as u might not know it may be a jap beta firmware.. like mine... coz if u do.. after that ur phone wont be able to access the data file in ur phone.

1. I think I may have beta firmware. It was made in July 05 so it's definitely possible based on the era. What are the probelms with beta firmware, and what are the things I shouldn't do?

2. I certainly don't recall having this on my other one.

3. So don't do a master reset? XD

beta firmware meaning testmode?

scotttt the way to find out is try pressing the power button for just 1 time (not long, just a press)... if your phone turns off, you have beta unlock/firmware.

on the 903, startup and shutdown always take a long time. the firmware seems to work just like an operating system it that it actually boots up and boots down.
