I have a 870 and my baud rate is set at 19200. What is this basically for and what setting should I have it on. What is the purpose of it?

Its a function on the phone to set the transfer speed on a serial cable.

You would normally use it on phone as a modem with a serial cable- Doesn't affect USB.
