I guess my old thread seem more like asking for an unlock rather than inquiring, hence, it being closed. Im not asking for an unlock, just wondering if there is one out there or has the phone ever been unlocked. Does anybody know?
Im thinking of buying this if it is unlockable.

usually nec phones are unlockable. i dont know if somebody has found a way, but im still trying to figure out for my 802n since 14 months...so far nobody could unlock it and most of the people told me so far its impossible to unlock NEC phones. good luck!

The problem is that, for whatever reasons, no one seems to be exporting these babies abroad, when they work, since even the Toshibas have made it outside Japan, etc. Thus, less people trying to unlock them.

The 804N is much more likely to get unlocked than the 802N because the 804N's software is based on the i-mode N600i 3G handset sold in i-mode countries. The 802N's software however is based on NEC's DoCoMo phones which have never been unlocked to my knowledge.
