if u live in US go to fry's and buy a 1gb minisd A-Data for only 14.99
i think its pretty cheap. i just bought one and it works just fine.
one thing i noticed different is that it takes longer to save a picture =/
about extra 10-20 second wait. i thought minisd speed doesnt matter on a cell....??
and i also it only shows that i can use 955.8 mb on my phone. anyone know why??

oh cause the 1G is just for reference only. They cant create a card that is excatly at 1GB which is impossible. I notice if u flip the screen and close the phone, you will enter camera mode, that mode save faster for some reason .

Yea... They just round the numbers so the memory isn't exactly 1mb... 1mb is actually like 9998kb or sumtin like that... They just round it. As for it being slower... I think this is the case on a lot of phones. It just takes longer to process and load stuff.

the larger the card, the longer it takes to save and access memory

1mb is 1024kb. depends on file format... the memory sticks are in FAT format which throws a bit away in addressing...

also depends on how much is on the card as well.

I have an a-data 1 gb minisd too but the save times were only 2-3 seconds more than the 64mb toshiba that i got with the phone.

i went from the stock toshiba to the kingston...they are both on par...i guess brand does matter to a certain extenet

did you try my way? where u flip the phone and use camera mode. Try to compare the two. I notice it is way faster if it is flipped down. At least mine is. btw I am on a 512 mb toshiba

lol phone open = 20 secs
phone in camera mode = 5 secs

full res, full quality, euro fw

It's because the 903 takes all photos in landscape format, ie 2048x1536 in the case of a 3MP picture. With Euro firmware if you open the phone and take a picture vertically the phone shoots the picture and then starts rotating it to portrait orientation, ie 1536x2048 for 3MP, which takes the extra 10-15 secs or so.

At least that's what I've observed in Euro firmware, because in JP firmware it just takes the pic horizontally and adds EXIF info to the JPEG file to tell any PC picture viewers to rotate the picture in memory before displaying it. Unfortunately the default Windows Picture Viewer doesn't support that stuff and displays the picture horizontally. Useful for everyone...
