What bluetooth headset should I get for the RAZR?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just got a Motorola V3 RAZR. Was curious what bluetooth headset is recommended. I see some for $30 on Amazon.

I heard the H700 uses the same charger as the RAZR. That does appeal to me as in there is one less thing to carry when traveling. But if that one is crappy, I don't want it obviously.

Do all of the motorolas use the same charger?

Thanks..

My dad has the H700 and he loves it, he says it's more comfortable then the HS850, and has better battery life too. Some Motorola headsets use the old 3-pin style charger, but I think most've the newer ones use the new mini-usb style charger.

Well does anyone know any other type of bluetooth headset that uses the same charger as the RAZR?

I've noticed vast price differences amonst them:

Logitech - $30
Plantronics - $35 at Costco.com (Free shipping)
Motorola 815 for $29.99 at Amazon
Motorola H700 for $59.99 at Amazon.

I have the Motorola H3, it is specifically designed for the Razr. Same charger, Comes in Silver or Black... Very Lightweight and comfortable to wear. lasts for a couple of days without charging, but it does drain your phone!

H3 Headset

I bought mine from fifthunit.com for $23 + shipping... It is probably a fake, but works and looks exactly like it should. Even with my hard of hearing. Been using it for 6+ months now.

It looks like the h3 on that website, but it also look like a website of fakes. did your product come with the motorola logo on it? the price elsewhere is at least $60.

Done some more research - a lot of those websites sell fakes. I guess YMMV and buyer beware. I'm going go consider the H700 for Amazon - $59. Wish i was a bit cheaper. Seems pricy for one of hese thigns when there are competitors selling ofr $30, but the convinience of carrying one charger seems good to me.

I compared it to a retail version from the store, and it looks identical, logo's and all. Motorola packaging, and manual. The logo on the website pic is erased, probably due to them not wanting to be sued...

Like, I said, I am sure it is fake, but it works perfectly. If anyone wants pics of mine, let me know, i can post them later today..

Fifthunit.com ships from china, or somewhere over there, so it takes a couple of weeks. but I, along with many on fatwallet, etc. have bought without problems from them, several times

I think the h3 looks nice.

Might get another Silver v3 and this h3. Perfect match =]

Man seems like every review of a bluetooth headset has a ton of crappy reviews too!

I'm not sure I want to try the Fifthunit website. It's about $30 more for a US version. But if you are daring - I say go for it by all means!

I've narrowed it down to the $59.99 H700 at Amazon or the H3 from Amazon.

Unfortunately, would prefer one with a decent return policy because I heard of a lot of lemons.

Also, does the RAZR suffer from Bluetooth volume problems like the earpiece does? I modded the Earpieace easily. Looks like the bluetooth mod process is tougher.!

Crappy website, but good deals. I have never been stiffed by them... Also, that webpage you pointed to... is a fake motorola H3 too, you can tell by the packaging...Real H3's are packaged slightly differently.

Right but it's $54 for a REAL one from Amazon.com without tax or shipping. That's about $25 more for a 1 year warranty.

It depends how comfortable you feel about flushing $25 down the toliet or perhaps saving $25 (glass half empty or half full... hmmmm!)

You are absolutely right.. I just didn't care. And luckily, my bet paid off nicely, It's been fine for 6+ months, If it goes bad, I buy another, I really don't care, and it isn't a necessity that I have a bluetooth, so price won..

I'm thinking of trying the risk-

Quick question. How does it work? Does it recognize the phone easily? Does the volume work? No echo? Does it hold it's charge? How do people you call feel that it sounds?

All of those cheap ones are fakes. I mean Amazon usually has good deals and they don't discount it nearly as much. It's $99 for retail price and amazon selling it for $54.

The fakes are very good. Read the reviews on pricegrabber.com of those merchants.

are you getting the real or the fake??

Posted by: bluesman78

You know, for now I am thinking of just getting a wired headset for $5 because I want one anyways.

I don't really want to spend $60 and I won't wear this thing all the time. Nor do I want to carry it around with me to work. I was hoping to get one to walk around my apartment and talk to people. I would use it more in the car and it just seems like they all stink in a car. I'm going to wait for a deal on one at Amazon (h3 or the h700).

If I were to buy one, i think buying one from a legit place at least - Amazon is the best choice. I bet there will be some sales on these for labor day...

Wirelessly posted (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.4062/1316; en; U; ssr))

My vote goes to H700 B version

Posted by: bluesman78

From what I have heard the legit no fake h700 is the best. I guess Amazon sells the B version exclusively.

It's $59 on Amazon - the best price it seems....

Decided to bypass all the knock-off possibilities and ordered my H700 from Cingular NBO. Had to pay $85 plus tax for it , but at least I know it's the real deal. Works great, and the solid black color looks cool too.

WOW.. Knowing a legit one is available on amazon for $59? You spend $85!

Posted by: bluesman78

Seriously I would have gotten from Amazon. Amazon only sells the legit ones....

Yeah, I wanted to spend more just to have you insinuate how stupid I was.

Actually, had I known in advance that Amazon had them for less, I would have bought there. On the real though, if you found out that Amazon sold you a fake one...could you exchange it? I doubt it.

Well, since someone posted the price at amazon yesterday... uh, yeah.. Or by doing a quick search of one of a thousand online price scans, you would have seen.

And, yes, you can exchange, return, etc. from Amazon, as a matter of fact, it is probably easier than returning it to Cingular, because they won't take it, they will tell you to deal with Motorola. And..As long as it comes in a sealed blister package with a color (Not black/white) manual, it is legit. The ones with Cardboard packaging, and plastic bubble inside, are fake too.

Unfortunately, I can't live on this board so I didn't see the price yesterday. And I normally don't do online price scans to make every purchase. No big deal though, I got what I wanted and $30 isn't the end of the world. Plus, got it sent to me overnight and simply added to my next phone bill. Sweet enough.

Posted by: bluesman78

Dude, I hate whne people make fun of a bad purchase too.

Amazon sells legit ones. I think some people buy the used ones off the Marketplace and then post bad reviews of it...

I like the Moto H5 Even though it's a little pricey. Heard from a couple peeps that use it, say it's the best out there.
