I was recently approached as maybe becoming a member of a B2B market group. Just wondering if anyone here has any feedback good or bad with B2B and maybe pay if available. Currently work in a COR location, I am relatively happy with it. Not to much stress, customers come to you, etc. So any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Its a whole different animal. Made the switch to outside sales a few years ago, not with Cingular. While the freedom is great you HAVE to self motivate to get get out and knock on doors in the heat or rain or snow depending on market and do your telemarketing calls.
I assume you'll get a territory hat will have some established accounts, you will need to contract each one just to make sure they are using you to buy new phones adn "fix" any issues that the person you replaced left open.Your best source of income will be your exsisting base and referrals, most don't work this well at all.
The other things to look at are car expense, you will being way more gas and wear and tear on your car there are costs with this as well. On the upside you will have far less whiney pissy customers and far less chargebacks. You will make far more "hook ups" with the businesses you make contact with. You will also make more money.
In the end for me it was great move but I did struggle quite a bit the 1st few monthes.

You'll also learn most business don't care about bells and whistle. They want something relibale and don't care about MP3 players and megapixels camers.
you'll need to learn alot about data, email and PDAs.

Thank you very much for your responses. Just a few more questions, how much of it would be cold calling. How do you get your leads what extra tools do they give you. What is the difference between what a rep can do for a business and what I can do.

Well considering I CAME from the B2B group, I figure I'll chime in...
Your job is cold calling. You will find some accounts in the territory you are given, but a good majority of it will be cold calling. To be a successful b2b rep, expect to make somewhere between 40-50 calls per day on top of all the work you will be doing to support your "existing" account base. It isn't an easy job by any means and you will have to have some pretty thick skin, but there is some potential there if you are a decent sales person.
If you want to touch base with me off the forum I'm happy to provide a little more insight, but right now I need to get some sleep. 8:30 meeting tomorrow with my new job.

i have an interview for B2B in a couple of days. I am a current COR rep. Anyone have any hints or insight on what I should be prepared for and prepared to discuss on this interview.
I have already passed the first assessment and have to complete a second. Does anyone have any advice.
Thanks in advance.
