ringtone problem on my v3

so i uploaded my mp3 on to my phone via motorola phone tools like any other time i do, however what happens now when someone calls me is the ringtone will for the first 2 seconds then it just stops playing...
so i then i put an mp3 ringtone that i downloaded from rogers website and that works fine but the ones im uploading only work for first 2 seconds then they stop. this has never happened to me before.
ne help would be greatly appreciated.
