Phone Covers - Protectors - who uses them? who doesn't?

Who uses it? Who Doesn't?

Cellphone protectors/Covers are they really necessary?

Any 903SH owners here currently have the "rubbery covers" on their 903's?
If so, how is it? Does it make your 903's heavier, more cumbersome?

I really don't like using them covers but, I really, really don't like to accidentally ding, or scratch my phone through carelessness either!!!
So I'm just ultra-super-extra-careful when using my cellphones to avoid such catastrophes.

I was one of the many who used to advocate the use of cellphone covers / protectors to keep it from being scratched, dinged, or banged.

But then I realize, I'm a real careful user. I'm always watching out how I handle, place, and use my phones. Always. So therefore I didn't really need
the cover on my cellphone because frankly, it makes any cellphone bigger, clunkier, cumbersome, and downright ugly IMO!

I came to the conclusion that it really depends on the individual!
My roommate for instance. Lord knows how many times he's dropped his SLVR L7. Once in Las Vegas while walking, another time during a family outing at a Mien Ghia joint, and the last time I saw him drop it was when we were at Starbucks. Surprised that things still works! N-E-Wayz, someone like him would no doubt need a cellphone cover/protector which he doesn't have!

So I guess it really depends on the user....

What do you think fellas?

I'm really careful with my phones. I never dropped them. Only dropped 1 out of the many that I've owned. Anywayz... as for the rubbery covers... I believe you are refering to the silicone ones? They cover up the phone's good looks. The thing about them is that if you were to use both sections (front and back) the phone won't be able to close all the way. I think this is kinda stupid... poor design so it won't work too good.

I found the silicone covers for the 903 to work well, they add a little but of thickness and as havo said doesnt really let it close all the way. Never dropped the 903 when I had it so I cant really comment on its ability to protect the phone, but for what its worth, theyre really soft like snuggles soft. Also the cover makes it hard to slip in and out of your pockets due to it not being as smooth as plastic.

I dropped my 903 several times, once it was actually kicked while a friend was breakdancing and it flew out of my hands, hit the ceiling, then the floor, yet there were no scratches, or dings. (But the battery flew out )

Either Im lucky or this is a damn good phone. The cover is shiny piano black and it hasnt gotten a scratch despite it being in handcarry luggage nekkid (just shoved it in my bag full of pencils, books, etc.

My point is, there is no need for a cover. The 903 will prove its worth.

Although the top cover of the 903SH is easy to get small but not really noticable scratches I still would not use any cover to protect it as it makes it so ugly. I have dropped the once but luckily it was in a mall where the floor is nice and smooth, no scratches what so ever only the SD card pop out. From that point on, I have alway been very careful with it. I don't know what I would do if I drop it on a concrete floor? Maybe I will sell it and get another one...

you got lucky cuz i seen people have scratches on their 903 just by putting it in their pocket.

i dont use any protection either it would just ruin the sexiness of the phone

I never used any kind of cover on any of my Sharps. That shiny paint was just too pretty to cover up (regular cleanings with Griot's Garage Speed Shine helped keep it that way), and the phones were all thick enough as it was. I never put them in a pocket with anything else, though. Automotive polishes can do a pretty good job of getting out really fine scratches.

Yeah I let my 903 feel the breeze.. no major catastrophe's yet.. but one very close call. I was walking along downtown with girlfriend and I mindlessly took out my phone to check the time. Did one of those one handed open the flip phone with your body thing, and before I knew it, the phone was completely out of my hand.. made some kinda weird fetal position dive to the ground and half juggle thing and managed to catch it between my forearm and torso.. This was like 2 days after I got the phone, <<; heart attack.
