Strobe Bluetooth read Contacts/Sounds/Pictures?

I have the Strobe Bluetooth, and have installed the Mobile Phone Tools, and can dial from my PC (using bluetooth) on the Stobe. When I attempt to read the Contact or the Media Explorer, it does not display any files, pictures, etc.

I have also tried EasyCDMA, which connects to the phone as well, but does not display a directory structure.

How can I upload my own ring tones, and/or download pictures?

I have similar problems, but sending bluetooth from phone to phone.. also kyocera, but i have the kx5. i've heard that the service providers can disable the bluetooth transfer themselves and that you can enable with kpst, but i don't really know.

I'm having the exact same problem. It's been driving me crazy because I bought a bluetooth dongle just for my phone. If I get really lucky, I can get BitPim to connect but I don't know what to do when I see the file system. I can get mPT to connect but as you said I can't send or receive anything. Anybody have any ideas?

Ok I've made a little progress. Bitpim is finally connecting if I go to the file system. I found my camera pictures but I can only save one to my computer one at a time (which takes forever). I can also send ringtones but as stated in other topics, you have to rename it to .mid. They can be set as default ringers but it will tell you they are corrupt if you try to play them through the Media on the menu. Also, Kyocera technical support sent me an email saying mPT is currently being updated which will come out the end of this month or beginning of next month for the Strobe.

So what settings are you using for your ring tones? Also, what path did you find the pictures in, and also, what path are you placing the ring tones in?

Will you be getting a copy of the mPT from Kyocera? What version do you have now?

Well for the ringtones you go to folder options, then view, then uncheck hide extensions for known file types. Then you just go to the song you want as a ringtone and change the extension to .mid.

The camera pics are under brew/shared/campics. The ringtones I put in brew/media/snd/ringer (not in the default folder).

No I wont' be getting it from Kyocera, just hoping I'll run the liveupdate and it will work. I have 3.7.01

Call me a tard or what ever, but what software do i need to install to communicate with my strobe? When I look under my bluetooth devices on my PC it shows that the phone is there, yet I cant access it. This is my first time trying to sync with a pc so be gentle.

Thanks

Bitpim is what I used, http://www.bitpim.org/ . Also Kyocera mobile PhoneTools is another that is suppose to work.

Another strange thing happened. Out of nowhere last night, mPT actually worked for my strobe. I actually was able to select all camera pictures at once and send them to the PC. I also tested sending a ringtone and it worked. It may have been that I disabled norton internet security, but I'm not sure.

Did the strobe come with mobile PhoneTools? or do I need to download it from somewhere? If I have to D/L where can I get it?

Thanks

No it didn't come with it unless maybe you got a USB hookup with your phone. You can find it for free (of course, illegal) just search for it on google or here. Make sure it's Kyocera's not Motorolas mobile phonetools.
