Hey everyone, im new to this forum and found it by searching for help with the mobile phone tools. Hopefully i can get more help from you guys than those kyocera butt pirates that gave me nothing. I just got the mobile phone tools for the Strobe (Alltel), installed it and did the update so it would hopefully find my phone which it didnt. After then trying to manually choose the phone which seemed to work but then pops up showing phone not supported on the screen when mPT boots (shows my phone). Ive tried rebooting the comp, turning the phone on and off, making a new profile. Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be great, thanks in advance!

Did you choose "Strobe" or "Strobe Bluetooth" (slightly lower on the phone list)? When I connected my Strobe, it did the same thing, but when I picked the correct one, it connected. (I can initiate a call from my PC using the bluetooth, so I know it works, but I have another forum topic open on how to read/write the contacts/images/ringtones)

Just wondering which mobile phone tools you guys were using? Just switched to the strobe today and am loving it so far. Thanks again

im using the Kyocera Mobile Phone Tools ver. 3.7.01 by BVRP software. My computer wont detect it nor will it allow me to transfer ringtones or wallpapers. it recognizes the phone as strobe bluetooth, but not just regular strobe. where can i find the phone modem drivers online to install onto my comp since it cant detect it, maybe that has something to do with it??

Drivers are unnecessary for either bluetooth or the phone. the default microsoft Bluetooth drivers work best IMHO. Bluesoleil caused stop errors on my cpu, and widcomm wouldn't work either. i used an Encore BT dongle EDR class 1 BT 2.0. 14.99 @ newegg. I found MPT (very old version) searching here (forums) and google, then ran liveupdate. this got me 2 the latest version. ran config selected "strobe bluetooth" and everything worked fine.
Does anyone know what profiles *should* be on the phone?
I'm certain metropcs crippled it, all that exists is DUN and serial port.
Somehow mpt is able to move graphics, .mids and even .mp3s! only 16mb avail, enough for several 45-60 second snippets. btw mpt has a slick mp3 chopper thats very easy to use. mpt can also sync outlook contacts with your phonebook, and schedules from your scheduler. Worked very well to tx my outlook list into the phone.
pairing is unecessary to make mpt work. you only nneed to tturn the phone to visible mode abnd mpt found it.
