Speaker on SKII for calls not working

well im having problems with the speaker that you put to your ear when your talking on the sidekick II. You cant hear anything when you are on a phone call, BUT you can hear everything on it through the diagnostic test and when it is starting up and when it is in applications and when you hit keys you can hear evertything through it except phone calls..why???
The phone hasnt been damaged or anything.. i called t-mobile and did a hard reset and that didnt work so i am open to any suggestions. I just bought the phoen and am very desperate. The speaker works perfectly with everything except phone calls...Thank You
