I'm really confused here, because my MPT HAS been working fine, until tonight. I have U.S. Cellular, Razr V3c, and MPT version 4.21(after updating from the 4.04 that I had, and have used with no problems). I plugged it in to add a couple ringtones, like many other times, and it said device not connected, or something like that. Well, it was connected. And, the new hardware found balloon popped up(saying motorola usb modem), as did the new hardware wizard, and started searching for whatever to try and install it, only to say it couldn't install modem, or something like that. It's been working!!!!!!!!! I uninstalled it and started over, and went through all the installation, and finally MPT said it couldn't detect phone, yet it was plugged in.Don't know if this means anything, but when I plug it in to the comp, it does make the little beep, but "charging" doesn't come up on the screen, like it does when plugged in to the charger. Anyway, updated to the latest version (4.21a) and still can't detect the phone. Device manager says that motorola usb modem is working properly, so, I just don't get it. Any help greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!

Edit: Just went back to device manager, and it said something about drivers, i can't remember, did the update driver thing, or whatever, then it said device working properly again, but MPT still can't detect phone. I just don't get it.............IT HAS BEEN WORKING JUST FINE!!!! Like I said, I'd really appreciate any advice. I'm thinking it almost has to be something with the phone, seeing how it doesn't say "charging" while plugged to the comp via usb, but I just don't know WHAT it is. Thanks!

Well, no one has any idea of what is going on with my phone and/or MPT? I know my description is a little scattered, but that's about how MPT is acting. Anothet thing that was weird is I got it to the point where it was supposedly initializing, and it kept saying that, and "please wait" and aftera few minutes, it would say device not connected, even thought it was! I just don't get it. I tried other usb ports,and other cables, just to make sure, and no change. Like I said, if anyone has any idea what it might be or something to try, I'd vey much appreciate it! Thanks in advance, ........again!

O.k. here's another(hopefully more clear) description of what it is doing:
Rememebr that I've reinstalled MPT at this point and updated it.
I start MPT
Choose a profile window opens, it's set at default, and I click o.k.
Phone setup wizard opens, I select cable, and click next.
Connect phone to PC(yes, while turned on)
Phone setup opens telling me phone is being installed and set up.
At the same time, new hardware found balloon has popped up, saying Motorola V3c, and then Motorola usb modem........phone setup is still doing it's thing, and now, the Found new hardware wizard is open, telling me to wait while it installs software..........then tells me windows was unable to install modem
And now, MPT says it has not detected phone, do I want to update the phone list, and redetect the phone? I know it's updated, but I tell it yes anyway, and it tells me MPT is already up to date............
Oh, I did get to point where it asked me if I wanted to install it manually, or something like that. So I tried that............selected motorala cdma, and selescted my model #, and went that route. I did get it to where it said it was initializing..........and it just kept saying that for quite a while, and then out of nowhere, it said device not connected..........and it was!!!!!!
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just don't get it! I used it a couple weeks ago to put a couple ringers on there.............no problem. It keeps doing the above described cycle, and I don't know what to try next. Someone please give me some suggestions

Another weird update........now, out of nowhere, it started working........the new hardware wizard said it installed the software, and my new hardware is ready to use, and it works now, except when I unplug the usb, and plug it back in, it wants to go throught the new hardware wizard all over again, and I have to keep cancelling it. If I open MPT, it recognizes the phone and works like it has in the past. Then, because I kept trying it to figure out what was going on...........it started charging through the usb, and said "charging" on the display............it hasn't been doing that lately either. Now, I plug in through the front usb port on the tower, and the new hardware wizard doesn't come up, and it works fine......right now! The weird thing is I plug it to the back port, which is usb 2.0, and here comes the new hardware wizard bs again, so I plug it back into the front port, and it's fine again......for now. Still think all this is strange, and again, would appreciate any feedback.
