Hello, I am on Orange and have just signed up to their GPRS Access Pack.
GPRS is enabled on my handset as the icon is at the top near the battery saying. But I want to know, how can i turn it off? Surely, using the 'Always on connection', my handset is technically on a permanent phone callso surely, my battery will run down completely a lot sooner!!!
Any advice??

I wanted to know that also, will it really consume more power if the gprs logo is constant on?

In theory it must do...think about....GPRS in lamens turns means constantly connected....therefore the phone must be holding onto some sort of signal to keep the services active all times.
Its a shame it doesnt come on automatically. Tell me if im wrong but i think the T68i and such phones did.

It doesn't actually mean its connected to GPRS, it just means GPRS signal is present. When you actually use GPRS you will get another icon to the left of the GPRS signal indicator.
