Any way for free internet on CU500?

I remember one of my phones back in the day had a setting you could check for free wap internet (it used some frequency that just ate minutes when you were connected)

Is there a way to still do this with the CU 500?

Wirelessly posted (whatever the next lines says: NokiaE61-1/3.0 (1.0610.04.04) SymbianOS/9.1 Series60/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

short answer no your talking csd. the whole point of that phone is hsdpa. it you dont use it for that its kinda useless. its just another phone with a cam and memory card

Ok- thanks for the reply--

I'm basically using it because I had to upgrade, got the phone for 80 bucks with only a 1 year contract, and my old phone broke... the bluetooth is sweet though

I just wish you could just have a whole song register as a ringtone. Pretty retarted they limit it at 600k. Makes for gay audicity cutting up of mp3s

no offense but i dont see the whole point of having a full mp3 as your ringtone. your phone can only ring for 30 seconds max so either way you could only hear 30 seconds regardless of the length of the tone, but if you use the clip you choose you get to hear the part of the song you like. just one mans thought

heh Yeh, I know it's personal preference, but I'm with u on this one, cjmedina. Even if there was no file size limitation for ringtones, I'd still be cutting out the 30 second clip I'd specifically want to hear. It's pretty rare (if ever) that I want to hear the first 30 seconds of a song (as opposed to the main "chorus" part).

because i'm lazy and would rather not cut up every song

Why not rip from the audio samples prepared on Walmart and Amazon MP3 stores?

CSD was what you were thinking about, but Cingular put a stop to that a while ago when people figured out how to get CSD charged minutes to count as unlimited minutes. Or something to that effect.

If you search the internet I believe there are some free wap services, or some that are very cheap.

You can only do that with CDMA carriers.
