SLVR L7 screen blacks out. Help Please

Hi, ever since i got my phone i've noticed that my screen blacks out after a few seconds, then the screen saver turns on for a few seconds then blacks out again.

It works ok but seems like it goes on standby or something like that. I get phone calls and messages but after use it blanks out.

Also another problem is my alarm clock it turns on but when i hit the snooze, it wants to turn on but seems like something stops it or sometimes it goes on intermitently.

I tried searching and didn't find anything similar to my problem.

Not sure about the alarm, but the display sequence you described is normal.

You can adjust the length of time until the display's backlight turns off (screen will be barely visible)..

menu > settings > initial setup > backlight = 20, 40, or 60 seconds

then eventually, the screensaver should turn on (if enabled), and then the backlight will turn off again at the interval set above.

then, the display should turn off completely in a minute or so..

menu > settings > initial setup > display timeout = 1, 2 minutes, or off

The screensaver doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than turning the backlight on for a few seconds of viewing, but can be adjusted as well..

menu > settings > personalise > screensaver > delay = 1, 2 minutes, or off

I guess if the display was actually readable with the backlight off, and the screensaver was disabled, the above settings might be useful =)

Thanks for the help. Yup that was in the manual, it just didn't look right. I just have to figure out my alarm.
