Sanyo 6200 Doesn't Receive Calls (Debug Setting)

Hello--
I've been told by a few people that I constantly miss their calls. It rings on their end, but doesn't ring on my end.
I have a Sanyo 6200 with the Ringers and More Software Update.
I remember reading that you could change the frequency at which the phone checks to see if someone is calling. I forgot the name of this "feature." I assume there's a special debug code. I know that this will reduce the battery life of the phone, but I'd really like to make sure that I receive my calls.
Please ANYONE, if you can help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

I think the parameter is called the "slot cycle index." I think Sprint phones always default to 2 (= 5.12 sec), whereas you might prefer a value of 1 (= 2.56 sec) or even 0 (= 1.28 sec).
My understanding, though, is that the slot cycle index does not prevent ringing, it only delays ringing (because it takes 5 sec for the phone to wake up and notice the incoming call). If your phone never rings at all, I would actually suspect congestion on your local cell site. I believe that when a cell site is very busy, Sprint's network is programmed to prefer outgoing calls over incoming, on the theory that an outgoing call (from a wireless phone) is more likely to be an emergency than an incoming call is. Besides, the incoming caller can simply leave a voice mail, which should then immediately beep the wireless phone anyway.
This failure to receive incoming calls has happened to me, but mostly near expressways/tollways and mostly during rush hour.
