Are there any phones able to do these type of connections/sessions?

I am not framiliar with these, but thats not saying phone is not capable, and some IT guy can do it on a phone.

I can (painfully) do an ssh session from my Nokia 6620 (series 60). It uses a port of the PuTTY software available on sourceforge. I would imagine that some geek somewhere has ported the ssh client to WM5.

If you use the "screen" tool on the host, you can actually accomplish some useful work.

edit:
I have seen a VNC client running on WM5 so that is a possibility of something similar to PC anywhere. And VNC is cross platform so that is nice.
