I have been reading all morning and searching but have found no answers to my question.

I want a phone that Plays Mp3's with and without the need for headphones, has a good camera and is a clamshell style. Whichever holds more songs is a plus too.

I do not want a phone from another company that has to be unlocked. I want a phone made for cingular.

What would you all consider the top three phones that fit the criteria I want? I don't care about text messaging, getting on the internet or any other new things they added.

Right now I am looking at the CU500 and the RAZR V3i. I like the slvr but I really want a clamshell design. Playing MP#'s is my most important feature aside from talking on it.

I'm looking for something even more basic. Just a phone...no need for MP3, no texting, no camera, no web access...just dials and you can speak and hear CLEARLY on it. The phone is for grandma and she only wants to be able to call people. One objective - hear and be heard.

It's getting hard to find those. They are like little computers now.

I am debating between the CU500 and the razr V3i.

Anyone know of a good price on either with no contract? Not many 500's on ebay right now.

Some of them are little computers, like the Cingular 8125.

The LG cu500 and the RAZR V3i are great choices for music player phones. You should also look into the Sony Walkman phone series, such as the k750, w800, w810, or k790. They all have memory card slots. Craigslist is a good alternative to eBay, sometimes even better since you can inspect the devices before paying.

As for a truly basic phone, look into any of the Nokia candybar phones offered by Cingular.

The 810i is a little bit too expensive right now.. I got my SLVR for 100 bucks....

I'm thinking a v3i. I have an iPod but music is nice on my phone..

SonyEricsson Walkman Series is the best for MP3 Player Phones.... The main reason? They have a LithiumPolymer Battery, which helps MAJORLY with an MP3 Player function, and is more powerful than a LithiumIon.

I personaly have a w600i (now discontinued) and LOVE IT. I would then recommend the w810, but it isnt a flip type.

So in light of that, The RAZR V3i would be my recommendation. And this is coming from a Former Radio Shack Employee, now current Cingular Employee. Hope this helps
