Okay the weirdest thing happened to me the other night with my new E61, its been bothering me and I must share. I was sitting outside Sunday night eating dinner and I was looked down on my phone the little "3G" symbol appeared. It lasted for about a minute. I just sat their frozen in disbelief and the people I was with probably thought I was loosing my mind. I live in St. Louis, MO. and I know they haven't rolled out the Cingular 3G service in this area yet. Furthermore...the E61 3G WCDMA is not supposed to be compatible with Cingular's 3G. So now I am confused and excited at the same time. Do you think they are testing and why in God's name would it even connect to my E61? Anyone else expereince this happen with them?

do you have it set to dual mode in the settings. it might just be a error. if i set mine to utms it show 3g but wont let me connect cause its 2100 utms not 1900 band

don't worry about the "3G" icon on E61, the UMTS within will NOT work with US 3G (850/1900. even with future AWS)

it was in dual mode...you're right, probably just a fluke error.

I'd change it to GSM-only. Dual mode will kill your battery quicker.
