Does anyone know if the SideKick phone is going to be available for other cell phone companies or is T-Mobile going to be the only company to have that phone? I'd just switch to T-Mobile, but where I live, the service is not good at all. So, I have to stay w/Cingular until T-Mobile gets better coverage in my area. I'm dying for a SideKick phone, I've loved them since they came out and want one so bad!! So, if anyone knows anything...please let me know!

Thanks,

is there anyway to unlock it?? to use with cingular?

You can unlock the phone and use it for Cingular but it will be pointless to do so.

You will only be able to use the phone and text messages only. Nothing else.

The Blackberry 8100 is coming out soon for Cingular and will have the same features and more (with the exemption of full size qwerty keyboard).

I will get that instead.

I'd go with the CIngular 8525 when it's released. It's bigger, but has a much more robust OS, and you'd be able to do all the same stuff as a sidekick, plus quite a bit more. Also, it has a somewhat similar form factor.

Has anyone heard any more news on the release date of the 8525?

Oh really? It'll look similar to the SideKick? Do they have the 8525 on the Cingular website yet? If not, where can I go to see what it looks like?

It looks almost exactly like the 8125. Note that I merely said "somewhat similar". It has a slideout keyboard, not a swiveling keyboard. Check out the cingular website (or just go google it) for pics of the 8125.
