(would you say i have this one locked?) thanks a lot

Okay, here's my story.

I've been supposedly hired by Cingular for almost 5 times now ( actually, I'm pending a 6th )

Everytime they say, "We'd love for you to work with us, we'll be sending you the packet etc etc, we're starting you off on etc etc."

Now, then sometimes I'd get a phonecall stating that I'm sorry there's a mixup or etc.

DO NOT trust Cingular's HR process. Don't quit until you hold that packet in your hand. Seriously.

so you have never actually received the packet yet? they told me they were going to be overnighting it to me within the next couple days, so hopefully theyre going to.did they tell you the same? thanks

6 step sales process (how to pass a mystery shop/your clipboard). Yes you get paid for training and all expenses hotel and food (up to $45 a day for food). No you don't get to pick your city for training, it is what class is starting closest to your start date and nearest to your store. Yes you will be working in store while training, greeting, tons of learning edge courses (computer classes), and shadowing sales reps. You also get ramp up commission pay for 2-3 months.

Are the classes/assesments fairly easy to complete? I have heard that if you do not pass these, they do not hire you??

I've been told VARIOUS things at times 1hoopin2. Literally spanning 1 1/2 years of promises, and screw-ups on their side. They're a wonderful place to work for if you're lucky enough to get through the door. The Big Red V is just too scary. Ever been to a Big Red V training? It's brainwashing I swear to God. They're benefits are great, but you must become part of the Collective.

ya as far as i know thats all it is...have you started yet and if so how is it?

The three saturday training is for part timers. Its basically brain washing. Obviously if cingular has hired you, then you must have a decent background in sales history. You dont need some trainer telling you that you have to follow the 6 step process to a t. It is true that if you dont pass the training class then technically your not allowed on the sales floor. Just follow the trainers lead, go to all the saturdays, do the work, and be on all your conference calls/web meetings and you will have no problems getting through training.

You have to act, look and dress as you are working on a sale floor. The trainers are the last screeners and you can be let go during or after training. The trainers are great and will work with you. They are also going to send your manager and their boss, an assessment of your strong and weak points at the end of training, they are part of HR.

The learning edge courses are what Cingular wants you to know about Cingular GSM cellphone service and the programs you will use to do your job. They are all basically computer based training with an open book knowledge quizz at the end. There are over a hundred of them and they have to be completed. Most of them, if you already know the subject matter you can skip to the end and answer the quizz. But you can learn everything you will need to know, they want you to learn where to find answers and how to look them up in CSP, Speakeasy, Cingular.com (CSP the font of knowledge).

Also you are going to learn the 6 step sales process and do sales "roll play", to demonstrate each step, with a final assessment roll play in front of trainer at the end of class. The six steps are: Greet, Build value, Offer solutions, Ask for the sale, Educate, Thank and depart (Gus Buys Only After Everything is Taken care of).
