Nokia e61 data connection issues w/ Cingular in NYC

I have the Nokia e61 with service from Cingular. The data connection drops with each neighborhood I visit. When I restart the phone, the connection is restored. The phone works perfectly in other cities, it seems that NYC is the only problem. I know at least 5 other people that experience the same issue with this phone and Cingular. I recently upgraded to Cingular's 3G SIM card and still have the same issue. Any ideas? Thanks.
