I currently have an outdated Motorola StarTac cell, and am looking to upgrade. My main uses for the phone would be text messaging, and watching videos on it, (tv shows/movies from my own collection).

I also want to be able to set mp3's as ringtones.

Which phone would you recomend for me to get?

BTW: i will be buying it straight up and going on a pay-as-you-go type plan.

thanx in advance.

A PDA phone would have a bigger screen for videos, so you may want to take that route. If so, any PDA phone will fit the bill. It's hard to choose, since you didn't give us your service provider.

probebly go with Rogers wireless (Winnipeg Canada).

i prefer to go with a cell because its smaller, i don't mind watching vids on a small screen.

Well, the L7 is a pretty tiny phone all round. If you are actually within Winnipeg itself then the W900 will do ok, but the reception won't be as good because it lacks GSM 850. If you don't mind a small screen you might look at the Sony Ericsson W810i...I think it might have the ability to play videos in landscape mode (not sure about this though).

actually i live about 1 hour from winnipeg, in rural mb.

I've basically narrowed it down to the L7 or an Ericsson.

I like the iTunes with the L7, I just want something i can watch Seinfeld on and still be relatively small.

watching videos on a L7? haha theres a good one.

FYI: if you want movie playback dont go with a Moto... go with a Nokia or SE.

so the SE is best for watching video?

Nokia or SE
