N-Gage QD Mono Stereo Question

Hey guys, so my Uncle got a new phone so I took his N-Gage to try and I like it so I'm using it. Pretty much because he already had a 1 GIG MMC which made it alot better then the 32 MB on my 6260.

So basically I wanted to use regular headphones with it so of course I went out and bought a 2.5 MM (3/32") to 3.5 MM (1/8") Stereo Adapter. So when I plugged it in the phone showed that headphones were plugged in so I plugged in my iPod headphones and tried playing a song with MP3Player the song is definitely stereo cause it list the bitrate and such of the song. Well I got very faint basically unnoticeable sound out of the right one and all the sound was coming from the right.

I went online and found out that the N-Gage QD has mono output. So I said to myself okay, easy fix so I went and bought a 2.5 MM (3/32) MONO to 3.5 MM (1/8) Stereo Adapter. But, when I plug in the MONO-Stereo adapter it says "Enhancement Is Not Supported"

I dont understand why it dosn't work, I thought all I would need would be the MONO--> Stereo adapter and I'd be able to use regular stereo headphones. Is there some secret i'm missing. Please help, Thanks

I'm sure other phones and PDAs have this same problem so if you have any info on this please share.

afaik, u cant do anything about it except change the actual speakers in the QD...or just get the original ngage

Well I got headphones to work to an extent, still not amazing but it comes out of both ears. I used the 2.5MM Stereo to 3.5MM Stereo adapter and only plugged my headphones in half way and sound came out of both ears. Probably just mono out of both ears but it is alot better then only one ear

yip u are right, it's dual mono but still not stereo

i just use the ORIGINAL ngage qd headphones and the sound comes out great on those. i love em. i have an .ogg player and it does everything mono but it sounds hella good on the headphones.. almost stereo sound..
