Seems like a nice device. I got to play with a store demo.

Not having a removable/replaceable battery is an issue of contention, in my opinion. Not having a microsd card slot is also disappointing.

However I am a former Sense user (HTC Hero) and have to say Sense UI not too bad.

For $30 or so more I think the S3 is worth it.

Just as fast as the S3 (same Qualcomm chipset). But it feels a lot better in the hand and looks much better to me (I'm a big fan of minimalism). And on top of that, the clarity and brightness of the LCD display is nicer (and I'm a huge SAMOLED fanboy, for what that's worth, having owned the S1, Nexus S, S2, Galaxy Nexus, Note and Tab 7.7).

I've had the "Glamour Gray" Tegra 3 version of the One X for a few months now. It has worse battery life than the S4-powered Telus/Rogers/AT&T version, yet it still gets me through the day just fine.

I do miss removable storage, but at least my unit is 32GB so it's not as much of an issue as it would be with the 16GB version you can get here in North America.

Sadly, as a Samsung fanboy, I just can't support the Galaxy S3. The design and colour choices makes my eyes bleed (I don't do white phones, and the fake brushed aluminum blue is just tasteless).

I was in London when they announced it, after seeing it I stopped at a Carphone Warehouse that day and bought the One X with absolutely no regrets since. The S3 is also not that much better than my One X in any aspect, and falls short in several others. I'll wait for the Note 2 and the GS4 before I go back to Samsung, because they lost me this round.

I believe one simply buys it... depending on which country you're in.

I'm really torn on this one too. I think I prefer the One X over the S3, though I do like both. The non-replaceable battery is a strike but I could live with that. No SD slot when it only has 16GB (less than 10GB useable after the OS etc) may be a deal breaker. I like to use my phone as a music player and store a couple of movies to get me through boring lunches or waiting rooms. Not going to be much space with this, especially considering the size of some apps these days. Don't know what to do!

Get the Tegra 3 international version, which comes with 32GB storage (and a strong modding community). Downside, it's only a bit faster, and it's a bit harder on the battery and it's not LTE.
