WIND current stats released today to employees: 457,000 Customers

Okay guys, here's the scoop from WIND this morning.

457,000 Customers
A net add on of 42,000 added in Q2.
28,000 Post paid.
20,000 Galaxy S III's sold from WIND. (don't know why this point is impressive but it is, wonder what the other 8000 postpaid devices were )
461 Points of Distribution (Goal is to have 1000)
In the last 6 months they added an additional 1200 network sites. (okay..)

Over 50% are finally postpaid on WIND. (an interesting number, they released the TAB in some capacity in December 2010. A year after launch, and over a year later they have broken the threshold. It's a strong number, they need this to focus on this to stay in business.

And talks of having a corporate party for 500K milestone.

Again this email was sent to all employees this morning.

That's a pretty solid quarter. Good for them.

It is! It's consistent with their earlier quarters... If they didn't stuff it down people's throats with the 430,000 number in April and again in July, it would have been feeling like the over 40K add-on of subs instead of a 27K... At least that's how I felt when handed the info and read through it.

You missed the great part after that paragraph where I said "Next on to the good stuff, the Q2 update.", unless you don't care for this information as was released internally from WIND. In which case, what are you doing here writing in this thread? Don't you have some kool-aid to mix up and drink this morning?

Since numbers can change before the quarter actually ends, when I read this..I see it as a relatively successful (they reported 415k at the end of Q1 2012).

Oh, and I hope what you're reporting about another "resignation" is true, they need to pull their socks up with their retail operations if they want to increase customer acquisition.

It is, this one isn't on the executive board, but he was head of national retail (or some other title) but his departure is a GOOD thing, don't know why kitwatuser is so heart broken and upset that he thinks I'd lie about this... it makes no sense.

It's for WIND's benefit. That Pietro guy who just came in as COO, he's a smart and well spoken man. He's not letting people have a free ride, and career on his watch because they weaselled their way in at the start. The person I'm speaking of above, is desperately needing to be replaced, his damage over the past 3 years will take time to correct, but with Pietro, we can only expect better results.

Orascom is also presenting their Q2 numbers next week August 15th 10AM EST, so this will be a fast comparison to draw.

I wonder, of these 457000, how many are actually active subscribers that are paying every month.

The official statement is he "resigned", although it was written very much like the past resignations. Except at the end, lot's of typos. I don't like to name names if they weren't previously publicly listed (for privacy reasons) on the Globalive or WIND mobile contact page. Although I'm sure you'll find more than enough corporate staff who weren't a fan of him in the GTA/Ottawa that can/will fully disclose and tell you. Not to say Google wouldn't help with the right key words.

interesting read. They still need 43k to get to 500k subscribers. If they managed to fix their coverage and there data speeds in the east,they might just get that...

If the numbers are accurate to OT's reports next week, adding 42K in Q2, is difficult. Q3 should be a cake walk.

They're already on it. Expect to see a more steamlined and corporate approach to PR and Communications in the coming months. Also more focus on support and their systems to betters manage clients on the phone side. Stores may see more warranty related tools to help customers.

A damn good quarter for WIND....very impressive. Should shut up some of the nay sayers for awhile! I'm not quite sure I believe they could have added 1200 cell sites in 6 months? That seems like an awful lot.

loxcel says Wind has 1138 cell sites in total across the country. It would be a dream come true if they really doubled that.
