• T-Mobile introduces 100% unlimited data plan

T-Mobile has just introduced unlimited data plans. They cost $20 per month when added to a Value voice and text plan or $30 per month when added to a Classic voice and text plan.

So, anyone want to get one of these plans to see how much data they can transfer?

You are right it is not a T-Mobile phone its a.inspire 4g on red pocket (att mvno). I had read your comment that I quoted about the program so thought I would try it in preperation on moving over too tmobile since I seem to get full edge signal here vs 1-4 fluctuating bars of hspa+ on att. I didn't notice it said it didn't work on HTC's... oh well. maybe I can find a nexus s cheap or something.

New HTC phones like the One series work on foxfi but for whatever reason older models don't.

If you read description in android market it tells. You may have to root then use hotspot tether app.. Good luck

The iPhone should be offered on T-mobile but it won't be offered on Tmobile in 2012....that is 100% guaranteed. The reason is that while T-mobile might be trying to align itself to get the iPhone, the fact is that Tmobile is still very far away from PCS refarming nationwide. The reason for the PCS refarming wasn't just for the iPhone but to be able to roam on AT&T eventually since AT&T uses 1900 MHz for HSPA+. In addition, Tmobile does not have LTE yet which will be the iPhone 5's main feature this year. Apple while they will support AWS frequencies will not make an iPhone 5 for a carrier that does not support LTE and certainly not one that has HSPA+ on AWS frequencies.

I am very confident that Tmobile will get the iPhone in 2013 since by next October, Tmobile will have LTE in some markets and hopefully PCS HSPA+ refarmed in most of the nation.

Right now I'm on the 5 GB 100 min prepaid plan, and thinking of switching. My phone has HDMI out, and I was thinking it would be nice to stream video onto my big screen TV through apps like Hulu or YouTube since I do not have cable. I always have minutes left over, so I don't need unlimited minutes. I also don't care about SMS/MMS.

So provided TMO doesn't change their rate plans around on the 5th, what would be the least amount I could get the unlimited data for?

I believe it would be Value Plan 500 minutes talk (free nights, weekend & mobile to mobile) for $34.99 plus $20 for the unlimited data plan.

Check the T-Mobile website. I don't see the $30, 500 minute, value plan that you mention.

It's a software conflict between FoxFi and HTC's Gingerbread w/Sense 3.5/3.6. FoxFi seems to work on the One series with ICE & Sense 4.0.

I'm a bit confused about the value plans. You used to be able to pay an activation fee and start postpaid service without a contract. Is that still the case, or would I have to sign a contract?

T-Mobile changed their policy. Now all new postpaid plans require a contract. The only choice they offer for no contract are prepaid plans.

T-Mobile has been losing too many postpaid customers so there's been a big push to lock in as many postpaid customers as possible. They'll even dangle little discounts in front of existing customers to get them to resign.

I had to pay an activation fee, sign a contract, and get no subsidy upgrade in order to stick with Verizon and keep unlimited data. And my plan is $30

I called CC asking how much will by bill increase, if I switched from the Preferred Android $19.99 data plan, to the new unlimited plan. The rep told me I would have to pay $10 more a month, and extend my contract by 10 months, since I just re-signed a contract in November for the GS2.

I will see if I want to do that. This November makes 10 years that I been with T-Mobile. At times I feel like breaking my contract. How much does the ETF go down if you have been in contract for 10 months.

      Did you try retentions?

Also, rumor has it the preferred plan may have its 5GB cap removed too

      It stays at $200.
THE EARLY TERMINATION FEE IS: $200 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH MORE THAN 180 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; $100 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH 91 TO 180 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; $50 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH 31 TO 90 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; AND THE LESSER OF $50 OR YOUR MONTHLY RECURRING CHARGES (including any applicable taxes and fees) IF TERMINATION OCCURS IN THE LAST 30 DAYS OF YOUR TERM

Well, that sucks. I'd totally jump on it if not for the contract requirement. I just don't feel comfortable signing a long contract at this point. Wish I'd kept the $10 a month 500 minute contractor plan I had with TMO when I was working for Western Wireless. I kept that up until about two years ago.

Look, I wouldn't go to Straight Talk if I were you. I looked into that before switching to T-Mobile, and the reviews were HORRIBLE. You're cut off or throttled after 2GB of data and their customer service is extremely unhelpful with anything.

I was on Straight Talk before I switched back to TMO on the 100 min 5GB 4G plan. It's OK if you're the type of user who doesn't use much data, but I do almost everything on my phone and do not have home internet, so it didn't work out for me.

I have been using Straight Talk $45 plan in various Android phones since this time last year. Never been cut off, throttled, etc. Its not for everyone but thats why there are choices. I'm simply saying in the previous post that this is one of the many choices available today.

Solavei is said to have a 4GB cap on their $49 Unlimited plan. I don't know how accurate it is but thats another choice.
