Here’s the Xperia Go. An entry level Smartphone that’s waterproof.
I’m impressed that it comes with a dual-core NovaThor U8500 processor and a microSD slot (the Xperia U didn’t) plus you get Android 4.0 (this is a Sony phone). I’m not surprised that it comes with 512MB of RAM has a 5MP camera and 8GB of storage (probably 4GB available). I’m a bit annoyed that it has a 3.6” 430x320 display and a 1305mAh battery.
Still, in person the screen looks good. The viewing angle is impressive.
No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, it actually comes with a lanyard connector!
Thank goodness that there was a glass of water that we were able to submerge it in - otherwise I’d have to toss it in the toilet when the Sony folks weren’t looking.
It comes in black or white. The white is a slightly slippery matte finish while the black’s finish was more matte - it’s matter!
Turns out the the Go has removable covers. So the ‘inside’ of the phone that’s behind the cover is waterproof.
If you can see past the screen the Go looks like a solid entry-level phone. If nothing else the waterproofness of it makes it a good drinking buddy.
It’s coming to Fido Nov 14th. Pricing hasn’t been determined yet. My guess is less than $199.99.
