• Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly bean update now available (SGS3 JB UNA) early!

    *Edit* looks like it's only for the LTE GS3. I just checked on my Wind GS3 (I have both versions) and no update yet.

    Looks like the juicy Android 4.1 Jellybean update for Canadian Galaxy S III users is available a few days early. Users are reporting they're getting the 320ish MB update. Just go check manually:

    settings -> about device -> software update -> update

    I just checked and my GS3 is being updated as I type this.

      My original wifi update (the screen shot I posted) actually ended up failing so I swapped to KIES and am doing it now..

      Even over KIES it's very slow.

      I let mine finish over WiFi. Took around 20 mins to download.

      Using it now. Looks just like it did with ICS LOL.

      Got it running smoothly. Soon I'll get to see if it fixes the bluetooth bugs that were in ICS on almost every Android device I used. It was a pain having to punch in a pin every time I connected to a trusted device.

      Took 2 hours to DL, but finally was able to update.
      So far so good, seems smoother than with ICS.

      Hmm, have noticed something odd, one of the apps I had with ICS (Locale) would leave a notification icon on and would always display, this now is gone in JB, so that seems odd.

      Wow it's about time. I got impatient waiting for Jelly Bean (specifically Project Butter) so I rooted and installed CM10 2 months ago..

      And I keep getting the wonderful "access to the software update is provided to users in the order in which they request it. try later" message.

      I guess I'll have to try it via Kies later tonight.

      The folders have a new look and feel, and the settings gear icon is now moved to the top right of the screen, out of the way.

      I'm gonna wait until next week Saturday... I have exams next week, so should be spending time studying this week. *L*

      Just checked my Wind GS3 again. No update yet. I hope they get it out today.
