• The iPhone On Verizon Appears To Be True

    The iPhone will be sold by Verizon in January next year according to an interview made to Bloomberg news by two unnamed experts aware of the plans. This information is neither confirmed nor denied by Verizon or AT&T. Verizon is scheduled to release 4 new phones by January next year so perhaps one of them is an iPhone.

    Rumors have been circulating for some time and it seems that Verizon fans may get their long awaited wish. If this news is true then Verizon will get a huge boost to its smartphone sales over its competitors. Verizon provides a much larger customer base then AT&T plus this will help levitate the stress on current iPhone users data services.

    I have mentioned in a previous post that the only way Apple can keep the iPhone in the game is by crossing carriers. Though this is still not confirmed it is starting to seem like a reality. Hopefully it isn’t a prank.

    If this news turns out to be false then I will make a correction. I will keep you updated as information is released.

      Do you mind explaining what you mean when you say switching carriers is the only way Apple can keep the iPhone "in the game." Which game is this you are referring to?

      "The Game" is really about staying up with RIM and soon to be passed by Android as far as OS.

      When you say staying up with RIM, I'm assuming you are referring to number of handsets sold. In that case, becoming available on Verizon will help in that case.

      As far as keeping up with Android in the OS department, I think there will always be Android fans (the nerdy independent minded folks who enjoy the freedom to tinker with their OS as they please) and iOS fans who like the OS on their iPhone as it is. I don't see how the iPhone being available on Verizon will change that.

      What he is referring to staying in the "game" is with the iphone being offered by verizon as well, that many people opting to stay with at&t for the iphone now have an option to move over to a much larger 3g provider, which will most likely increase sales of the phone. Let's face it at&t has never been known for having reliable service, and I worked for them in their repair/service department for a few years. Verizon also has many more subscribers so the potential for more sales are there.

      It isn't going to happen. There will be no CDMA iPhone. This is misinformation leaked by Verizon with the hope of dissuading people from going with the iPhone 4.

      Who said it would CDMA? It will more than likely run on the new LTE network.

      Verizon voice will continue to run on CDMA, only data will be LTE. LOL

      beginning of the end really if it happens.... it's already a *****-fest as it is with just at&t... just wait until the ultra picky, clueless, demanding verizon customers get their hands on the iphone.... it's going to be complete CHAOS... the blogs and forums are going to overload of all of the stupid vzw posts....

      Verizon is not getting the iPhone next January. This rumor isn't anymore valid then the previous 4,617.

      Meh, i don't wanna see a CDMA version of the phone anyway...

      With UMTS, Data and Voice are seperate. Completely seperate, except for the fact that they are from the same provider, which means you can use data services and voice at the same time. On CDMA, even with 1xEV-DO, you can't do that.
