• Froyo Rolling Out To Motorola DROID This Week - Get It Now (Updated)

Android 2.2 (Froyo) has started trickling out to Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID users this week. If you haven't yet received the OTA update, you can manually update to it yourself.

Before doing this, please read the update at the end of this post.

One of my favorite DROID blogs has posted an excellent tutorial for doing so here: Manual Android 2.2 Update for Motorola DROID - Droid Life

As a bonus after updating, you can also install Flash (not currently available in the Android Market) by downloading it here: Flash Player 10.1 Beta 3 - DROID. To install it: drop it on your SD card, access your SD card with a file manager like ASTRO File Manager or ES File Explorer (many options available in the Android Market) and ensure the "Unknown sources" option under Settings--Applications is checked.

Downloaded manual update, copied to SD and rebooted into bootloader. Quick and simple. Flash player was just as easy, downloaded the APK and it installed right away. Love it.
