• Where to Find Band 4 Support on Freedom Mobile’s 4G Network

Here's something I didn't know—Freedom Mobile has a list of cities where Band 4 LTE is available on their network. You'll of course find system-wide (but not Canada-wide) support for the newer Band 66, but only the latest flagship smartphones support it. Band 4 is much more widely supported, on older flagships and even this year's midrange devices.

    Anyway, here's the list:

    Alberta
    Airdrie
    Edmonton
    Fort Saskatchewan

    British Columbia
    Abbotsford

    Ontario
    Ajax
    Aurora
    Brooklin
    Kingston
    Milton
    Newmarket
    Oshawa
    Ottawa
    Peterborough
    Pickering

I was more than a bit skeptical when a friend told me how he got LTE data on a Moto G4 in Ottawa; I thought he was a bald-faced liar, but thanks to this list our friendship remains intact.

Feel free to confirm or deny Band 4 availability in any of the places listed above...

Some areas in Toronto are getting LTE. It's been reported that Ryerson University, and a few other places have LTE. Whether it's Band 4 or 7 I don't know. Personally, the west end of Greektown (Broadview Station) has LTE.

Windsor is missing from the list. Windsor was one of the first cities to have band 66 + band 4 LTE.

      Actually the list is outdated.

If I can pull LTE at a subway station, waiting for the bus (Broadview), then that list is sorely outdated. But they should at least include that some areas that aren't on the list may be able to access LTE. Yet my area is scheduled for Spring of 2018.

Blackberry keyone. Confirmed twice with FM that it's band 4 and 7 compatible so it's frustrating

I know for iPhone we have to set the cellular data manually..is BB the same or it sets automatically? Maybe remove SIM card and power on/off may fix the issue perhaps?

So I picked up my car from the shop, android auto kicked in (didn't have it before) driving along my signal is shown as H on the screen. I think it's home. I check later on screen and see 3g words. Hang on where did the H go? Short time later H back again. Dunno what it means

H would be HSPA, a '4G' technology, with faster speeds than just 3G.

You may see H+ also, it's two 'H's tied together....

On iPhones, this would be very well defined. It's either 3G for 3g and HSPA+ connections, 4G, or LTE.

Really? Two H's tied together? I always thought it was H+. It looks like it.

I have LTE in Toronto. Where I live has LTE whereas it was 3G. And Toronto isint scheduled to get this until Spring 2018.

But it depends on what area of the city you're in. At work I'm guessing it's still 3G. I won't know until Sunday.

If this is the case, Freedom should change this to reflect it.
