• Nokia Lumia 900 now available on Rogers for $99.99 on a 3 year

The Nokia Lumia 900 in black is now available on Rogers for $99.99 on a 3 year. It's powered by Windows Phone with a LTE, 4.3" AMOLED display, 1830mAh battery, 8MP camera, Nokia Drive navigation app and a 1.4Ghz processor with 512MB RAM and 16GB storage.

It's a really nice phone but at the same time it's not THAT different from the Lumia 800 plus it shares the same processor as the 710 (and 800). You getting one?
TORONTO, April 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Nokia Canada announced that the award-winning third smartphone in the Nokia Lumia family, the Nokia Lumia 900, is now available in Canada exclusively at Rogers Communications. Named "Best of CES" for all smartphones by CNET, the Nokia Lumia 900 is the first of Nokia's Windows Phone-based range to feature high-speed LTE connectivity. Having the largest display of all Nokia phones, it delivers a rich content experience from a phone that still fits easily in your hand.

The Nokia Lumia 900 features a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display for rich, bright images both indoors and out. It boasts faster connection speeds thanks to Rogers' cutting-edge LTE technology, and a long-lasting 1830 mAH battery.

The primary 8-megapixel camera includes Nokia's exclusive Carl Zeiss optics, with large aperture and wide angle focal length (28mm) for high-quality, uncropped images even in low-light conditions. It also has a 1-megapixel front-facing camera that boasts a wide angle lens that captures sharp, bright images right out of the box.

The Nokia Lumia 900 also comes equipped with signature Lumia experiences, such as Nokia Drive, which delivers a full-fledged personal navigation device (PND) with free, turn-by-turn navigation and dedicated in-car-user-interface. Available from Marketplace is the Nokia Maps app, which provides quick access to maps of more than 190 countries worldwide.

"The launch of the Nokia Lumia 900 in Canada signals our commitment to bringing the best phones into the Canadian market," said Richard White, General Manager for Nokia Canada. "It is impeccably designed with clean lines and a camera that rivals stand-alone digital cameras on the market today. Combine that with the people-first Windows Phone experience and the Rogers' LTE network - and it's clear that this phone delivers an unsurpassed mobile experience."

The Nokia Lumia 900 is available in black exclusively at Rogers Communications on April 9 for $99.99 with select 3-year plans. For more information, visit www.rogers.com/lumia900.

Look at the pictures rectangle phone, boring rectangle tiles.
      Think I will pass.

If the next upgrade of windows defaults to Metro on my laptop, I may decide it is time to get a Mac.

Man, that's one square phone. Well, at least if you aren't going to use it as a phone you could use it to true corners when you do woodwork.

The sides of the phone are probably the most curved of any phone on the market. I guess it's to balance the front-on view.

Well, almost all smartphones are similarly square anyway. The no term price is quite reasonable. If it were pentaband I would consider it to use on my Wind account.

I'm going to wait for WP8 and live with my focus for now...

If WP8 is anything like Windows8, life will be great

I am tempted to get one to see how does Windows Phone fare among other smartphone OS'es. My concern is the total lack of VPN support with Windows Phone - I will be quite limited using this phone for work.
I am hoping white version will be released, it definitely looks best. That might pull the trigger...

It will be interesting to see if Rogers similarly offers the $100 bill credit as AT&T has. I posted this on Redboard and am awaiting a response.

Yes, the lack of a Citrix client is also a complete conspiracy...

I wonder if WP7 or 8 will support Direct Access?

Been using a Lumia 800 on Fido. I am loving it. Got it from HK tho. Feels great in hands. Fast, intuitive, fluid. No lags whatsoever. The unlimited music download on Zune market is what I love the most. Just under 10 dollars a month. Thinking to upgrade to 900 only because of LTE. Hate the 3 yr contracts tho.

That's interesting act. They either carry very much about the clients or are desperate to get this thing going! Former seems just too good to be true, but I hope it is not the latter, really! Just imagine if Apple threw in 100 bucks every time they make software mistake on freshly released hardware - those iphones and ipads would sell for below zero And Apple is know for having rather good customer care. Hmmmm...

After all - price (given the $100 credit) is indeed too good to pass on! Definitely a fine moment to hop on the Windows Phone bandwagon..

That is the thing about WP - you won't "get it" until you put your stuff into it...

You won't be disappointed if/when you do...

Yeah that's pretty unfair - using an old phone limited to HSPA 14.4 and that only supports the 1900MHz 3G band. Should have been an HSPA 42 phone that could take advantage of both 1700MHz and 1900MHz...
