There’s a saying: past performance is no guarantee of future results. While it’s normally used to describe financial performance there are many other situations where it’s true: Weekend at Bernies II, Rocky 5, Dumb and Dumberer, Batman and Robin, etc.

Windows on PC’s has been a runaway success for many years now. As popular as it has been, its big problem is that its success has been largely limited to the desktop and laptop market. The idea that there should be a computer on every desk is suddenly a very limiting concept. (anyone remember how 640kb should be enough for everyone?).

Sabesh just finished up his review of the Otterbox Defender for the HTC One X:

OtterBox Defenders are 3-piece extreme-protective cases designed to withstand moderate drops and spills. By general consensus, they are considered to be the best at what they do. There’s no mistaking that it’s a classic OtterBox Defender: 2 snap-on polycarbonate shells to enclose the HTC One X and a silicone outer layer enclosing the polycarbonate shells for secure protection. It comes in minimalist packaging with pictorial instructions printed inside the box. OtterBox packaging now has a holographic/3D sticker, perhaps to prevent copies/fakes.

The inevitable is starting to begin.
As people are loosing, have lost interest in RIM's current product offerings it only makes sense that one of their manufacturing partners, Celestica, has starting winding down production on the current offerings.

The Star has an article up about this slow down of manufacturing for RIM which is what initially caught my attention.

Initially I was hit with a "well I saw that coming" mentality, but there may be a silver lining here for the BlackBerry faithful. They're winding down current production, not dissolving the partnership. They could very well be ramping up shortly for BB10 production.

    What are your thoughts?

Mobilicity upgrading entire network to 4G, will enable download speeds of up to 21 Mbps - mobilesyrup, June 14

Mobilicity announced today that a major upgrade to their network is happening. They are increasing from the 3.5G network to a 4G network that will deliver “enhanced data performance with peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.” There’s no confirmed date as to when the upgrade will occur, only that it’ll go live “later this year.”

Mobilicity moving to 4G - CNW, June 14

Mobilicity today announced plans to upgrade its unlimited 3.5G network to 4G later this year. The company confirmed customers can look forward to enhanced data performance with peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.

"We continue to invest in our network infrastructure as demand for our affordable, unlimited data service grows at an incredible rate," said Mobilicity President and Chief Operating Officer Stewart Lyons. "Mobile broadband is the future; it already accounts for almost 90 percent of traffic on our network and we're committed to providing a quality user experience."
