Anyone have a prepaid plan? Can you tell me if the $50 or 65/month includes any fees save for normal sales tax?

Sprint's prepaid includes any fees-like a $40 plan on it really is $40 plus a few bucks normal sales tax. Post paid plans on the other hand seem to include around 25% in fees (plus tax), like my current $40 post paid plan is really basically $50/month.

Just wondering if $65 is really $65, or more like $81

So I assumed that “national” meant that when you left USCC's coverage area, you'd be on Verizon or Sprint or whomever but it would be included with your plan, you'd technically be roaming, but not really.

Well I just got off the phone with USCC, and she claimed that even on the nationwide plans, I'd still be paying for roaming outside the coverage area.

Is that correct? USCC's Sprint sale just made my “local” plan near worthless (and they never bothered notifying me...) I'm trying to explore my options (unfortunately Verizon and USCC are the only two carriers here that seem to have generally great coverage). If it's true that I'm still roaming (and paying for it) on a nationwide plan when I'm outside USCC's coverage area, then USCC doesn't really work for me (and it would make their “nationwide” plans no more nationwide than my local plan is...which can't be right, surely...)

I did find out that supposedly I can switch to a national plan with my current phone without doing a contract and while retaining my ability to get a discounted phone later if I wanted to, and that supposedly I can move to a prepaid phone or plan if I wanted to.

Looking for some help. I picked up the S4 from USC last week and cannot get the Air Gesture feature to work. Everything is turned on in the settings but I have no icon on the top of the screen indicating it is on. Do I need to turn something off the allow it to work? Thanks!

As was previously reported through statements made by USCC CS reps late last month, USCC now refers customer to Sprint for the network decommission date.

Although reps at a Sprint store stick by the previously reported June 18th date, Sprint CS Managers today stated that our USCC accounts would probably not be wound-down until end of summer / fall. A letter would be issued to affected customers more than 30 days out.

If true that could work out great for us, because by that time Sprint will be launching a couple Windows devices and one or possibly two Blackberry 10 devices.

Hello all, was wondering if anyone can tell me what all is included in the USCellular partner employee discount? I am eligible for a 15% discount and was told by a store rep that the discount is off of the entire bill but this seems too good to be true. My Verizon discount covers the plan and first line of service and the new Share Everything plan would cover data only. I searched Google but could not find an answer. Thanks for any help

According to Sprint Business Telesales this is the lowdown on the "Exclusive Special Offers" for USCC affected market customers porting to Sprint:

Beginning on May 15, 2013:

USCC customers exclusively porting their wireless number(s) to Sprint will receive the following:

A) a $50 credit per line which will appear on their forthcoming Sprint statement within 3 billing cycles.

B) Waiver of the $36 activation fee per each line

C) Satisfaction of any early termination fee incurred by USCC customers who were under contract (Qualifying the latter as a "promotion" is dubious because USCC would no longer lawfully be entitled to an ETF since they unilaterally left the market.)

In a nutshell that comes out to: $86 per line.

Just today I was informed by USCC CS agents that on May 18th, 2013 the wind-down of service for the affected Chicago and St. Louis markets will be implemented.

A mere 30 days later, on June 18th, 2013, native service to the affected customers will be terminated.

Notices of Sprint inducements will be arriving this upcoming week.

Since around 2:00 yesterday afternoon, my Note 2 is falling back to 3G in knoxville, in areas that usually have adequate LTE coverage. Anyone else noticing this in your area?

Hopefully US Cellular will push the update through sooner than later, and I'm hoping they add Google Wallet!

I'm in one of the markets that was sold to Sprint and I'm sad to leave USCC and the USCC HoFo thread.

I joined USCC back in 2003 because they were the only provider who had a cell phone tower in the town where I was living and can still count the dropped calls that I've had over the years with one hand. Over that period of time I've been able to get 10+ people to switch over to USCC from the big networks and haven't heard a complaint from any of them.

With rumors of the RAZR V3c coming out on USCC in the fall of 2005 I found HoFo and have been enjoying posting on here and reading posts on a frequent basis. Over my time with USCC I had the LG-VX4400, Motorola RAZR V3c, Samsung Delve, Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy S III.

As part of its quarterly earnings release today, U.S. Cellular announced that it will begin carrying Apple products later this year, although the carrier offered no additional details on its plans.

I have a Galaxy S3 that is through USCellular.
I was wondering, how could I go about getting the phone unlocked to use on another carrier (Straight Talk)

Part of what US Cellular has "sold" as their way and won a lot of customers (including me) is what they called their "Belief Plan". One key aspect of that was once you had a 2-year contract fulfilled, you would not be asked to sign another one. You could still get a new phone every 2 years but would not have to sign a contract to do so.

EDIT: If found the program... it was the "One and Done contract plan"

Well, a friend of mine just went to find out about ordering an S4 and was told they only way to get it was to sign a new 2 year agreement. He's been with them for 15 years and on the Belief Plan since its inception. When questioning the advisor, he got a run-around kind of answer.

So, I looked around and I can no longer find any mention of the Belief Plan... just their "rewards program". No where in the rewards program does it mention this key aspect.

Was this previously discussed and I just missed it? Is this something new? Am I missing something?

How about a comment from a US Cellular employee?
