Hi

I have been using the new Blackberry Q10 for about 4 days now, it is far from perfect.

My first BB was the Curve 8330, and I have followed every OS upgrade since.

This new OS is missing some key elements to business owners and people used to communicate in a convenient way.

Here are a couple of details I am a little upset about:

1. No more extended remote email search (server search), if it's not on the device (30 days max) then it is hard to find the email.

2. Contact sync doesn't work properly, it worked the first day, after that no idea what happened..

3.It used to be simple to email/sms a contact from the phone log, not anymore.

4.Take a picture, there is no way to find out when this picture was taken (no option, even in the file manager).

5.Airplane mode is not easy to access, why not having this option in the drop-down menu?

6.Reply to an email, the default color is navy blue, why not having the choice of the color?

I have been trying to contact Blackberry via Twitter, no help, via the support forum, it has been limited...

Do I have time to wait for updates ?

Anybody else having some Q10 issues/frustrations?

As a longtime Windows 6.5 phone user, and few month Android Droid Razr user, seriously considering moving service to T-Mobile I am considering the Blackberry Z10.

I never had or used a Blackberry device before. However I do know they are considered most Robust a pushing email into the handset.

10 Questions:

1) With a moderate amount of use...mostly emails on the order of 20 sent and received each day, and very little if any browsing...what kind of real battery usage can I stretch from a single full charge? With my current Droid Razr 2 (similar 1780 ma battery) I get about 40-55 hrs between charges.

2) Are there built in or available battery saving apps that be used to schedule the hours of each day for data syncing etc (like Moto Droid's Smart Actions.

3) Will non Blackberry account emails (GMAIL IMAP or Yahoo POP3 server accounts) be pulled or pushed to the device? If so can the frequency of pushing or pulling email be limited or controlled?

4) Can Google browser be installed in place of Bing as the default browser?

5) Is there any way to sync calendars and contacts with Office Outlook on my PC?

6) Can voice notes be activated or assigned to a side (smart) key?

7) Can you generally hold the device and open menus or dial with a single hand without fear of dropping?

8) Is the case and screen immune to scratching or scuffing?

9) How loud and clear are callers voices and do callers report your voice being?

10) Do you find Blackberry Hub useful?

Any answers to any or all of the above would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I have the opportunity to switch to a corporate plan and if I get the Z10 (which I have tried and liked at several stores), I can get a $300 bill credit with Rogers. I currently have an iPhone 4 that is slow and boring and had the Galaxy S and S2 so have used all platforms. I am loyal to none really and comfortable using all 3.

I like the main features of the Z10 like th Hub and gestures and for me, it is intuitive and will get better I would think.

I would love to hear existing owners who have had the phone for a while if they would recommend I get it. Not worried about apps so no need to go there...

Thanks!

Waterloo, ON – BlackBerry® (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB) today announced plans to make its ground-breaking mobile social network, BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™), available to iOS® and Android™ users this summer, with support planned for iOS6, and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher, all subject to approval by the Apple App Store and Google Play. BBM sets the standard for mobile instant messaging with a fast, reliable, engaging experience that includes delivered and read statuses, and personalized profiles and avatars. Upon release, BBM customers would be able to broaden their connections to include friends, family and colleagues on other mobile platforms. In the planned initial release, iOS and Android users would be able to experience the immediacy of BBM chats, including multi-person chats, as well as the ability to share photos and voice notes, and engage in BBM Groups, which allows BBM customers to create groups of up to 30 people.
“For BlackBerry, messaging and collaboration are inseparable from the mobile experience, and the time is definitely right for BBM to become a multi-platform mobile service. BBM has always been one of the most engaging services for BlackBerry customers, enabling them to easily connect while maintaining a valued level of personal privacy. BBM is loved by customers for its “D” and “R” statuses, which show up in chats to let people know with certainty that their message has been delivered and read. It provides customers with a high level of control and privacy over who they add to their contact list and how they engage with them, as invites are two-way opt-in. iOS and Android users would be able to add their contacts through PIN, email, SMS or QR code scan, regardless of platform. BBM has more than 60 million monthly active customers, with more than 51 million people using BBM an average of 90 minutes per day. I have gotten my e-mail accounts working without any issues as well as my contacts and calendar (as well as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).

On my Blackberry 9700, I have a lot of reoccurring tasks with specified due dates which re-occur every x number of months, weeks, or days.

From what I gather, on Blackberry 10, the Reminder application is supposed to replace the Tasks but when using the Reminder application, I can set a due date for the task but I can't seem to find a way to make it re-occur every x days/weeks/months. Am I missing anything?

Because I saw that my Blackberry Hub can be set up to synchronize with Evernote, I created an Evernote account but there isn't any re-occuring notes/tasks there either.

Any ideas?

I'm getting ready to put my son's Blackberry Curve back onto a prepaid plan along the lines of PagePlus or Talk for Good. Those plans tend to limit the number of text messages and I'd prefer my son not be able to claim he can't chat me because of lack of texting messages. I wanted to install something like Whatsapp to use his small data allotment towards messaging but it declares it needs a full BB Internet plan and not just a regular data plan. Is anyone aware of messaging programs, perhaps like Skype or something similar that work with just regular data? I'm trying to avoid downloading, installing and uninstalling a dozen programs as that is a rather slow process on this Curve.

Thanks in advance!

Or does it now work more like the iPhone or Android where everything you do, no matter whether its on the phone or online syncs. For example, if I setup my email will it sync my entire inbox, and if I delete an email from my inbox will it stay on the Blackberry or delete off the phone like the way it works on iPhone or Android?

Couldnt seem to find information about this anywhere... Hoping it syncs like on iPhone...

Thanks.

Anyone put a resale value on this so I can list it for sale? It was with Bell Mobility but it's unlocked now and worked with Bell, Telus and Rogers.
