I originally signed up for the $30 100 mins 5gb data plan using a HTC mytouch. I picked up a used iphone 4 and then cut the sim card down and had to set the iphone up to work with t mobile. I was wondering if anyone has done this and then swapped the sim card back to their android phone And if so did you have to re program the android or just put the sim card in an adapter, put it in the phone and it worked without re programming it?

Does anybody know if the following is true? A Droid Pro has HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 , so in any area where T-Mo has refarmed 1900, shouldn't 3G work? I'm asking because the following from a current eBay listing indicates that only EDGE will work on T-Mo. Thanks for any input.

I'm buying a China phone. I know they're not the best but I'm tight on cash. I need to find a sim card that will enable the gps as well as provide unlimited data. In the past I've bought a cheap AT&T GoPhone and just transplanted the sim card but then the gps didn't work. Wal Mart doesn't sell just the sim card either.

Hi everybody, I'm traveling to Montana (Missoula etc) for a few days. I've got a T-Mobile prepaid card and contemplating getting the $3 per day plan, but can I get data in Montana? I saw on the map that T-Mobile uses a service partner there... so I was wondering :) Thanks!

Before the haters start posting just make an understanding that this was a field test in the mountains of Helen, GA and the situation may be different in other parts of the country but this was our experience.

I just got back from going to SoWo Euro Car Show (http://southernworthersee.com/) and we had all 3 phones with us during the trip to there and back...

Mine: Galaxy S4 $30 Tmobile Plan
Hers: Galaxy S4 $49 Solavei Plan
Daughters: Iphone 4S on $12 ATT emergency plan 100mins/50text

Reason for still having the ATT phone is because its up in July and just waiting out the contract. I use to have it on a unlimited plan and when i switched over to prepaid 1 phone was out of contract and magicaly the 2nd one had been extended a few months longer for some reason even though both ATT lines were purchased new on the same date...

Trip up to Helen, GA from Tampa, FL...
Used the Solavei phone to stream Pandora on the way up and there was some areas in northern Florida and through out Georgia that it struggled with to keep a data connection but voice had full signal still. I looked at the Tmobile phone and it had similar coverage from what i could tell the way up.

While in Helen, GA...
Both the Solavei and the Tmobile phones had 1-3 bars on voice and E data/No data the entire time up there, or i couldn't connect to a single thing or view a web page... couldn't even send texts or receive them and on Sunday when we left i had 41 texts come through all at once on my Tmobile phone...and 17 text on the Solavei phone...:devil::devil:

While up in Helen, GA though the Iphone had 5 bars on voice and H data which was super fast but didn't use much due to charges because of no data plan... also was able to text and talk anywhere i was at during the show.. so this was the phone we used when we absolutely needed to get a hold of someone. The Tmobile and Solavei phones would try to call people but fail often.. or if i did get a hold of them it would be so garbled on both i couldn't understand them.

I decided to use my Tmobile phone on the way back and pretty much everywhere the Solavei phone choked streaming data on way up the Tmobile phone did the same..

My question is i thought both where suppose to use ATT towers in need of service for roaming and didnt.. is there an APP to force this.. i am fairly new to Android so unaware how to force a carrier like you can on Iphone.. but just clicking on the carriers that you want it to only use for service..

My wife just got a new Straight Talk on Verizon network phone. When I send texts to that phone from my TMobile prepaid ($30 unlimited plan) the texts are not all received. Some are - most are not. I do receive all texts she sends to my phone. She does receive texts from other phones. Is there any known issue with texting to Verizon/ST phones? We don't know which phone is having the problem.

I have a job situation change coming up where my employer might possibly pay for a portion of my bill in exchange for using it as my work phone as well as personal. The amount is undetermined at the moment.

I'll need more than 100 minutes if this happens, so it'd be a good time to switch up to unlimited minutes (possibly the postpaid plans).

I know the $30 plan is new customers only. So does this mean if I switch away from the $30 plan, I'll never be able to use my phone number again on the $30 plan? Just wondering if there is a way around it (other than porting out to Google Voice, though I'm not 100% opposed to that).

What happened to all the good prepay phones T-Mobile use to sell? It seem they now just have the worst phones they can find to discourage you from getting prepay. I would love to replace my nokia 3060 right about now.

is anyone able to use ssh or remote desktop on (or anything that uses non-standard ports) the $30 plan? is everything just blocked on the prepaid data plans?

just switched to t-mobile and liking it so far, but my attempts to use either ssh or remote desktop have failed..

I was wondering if anyone has this plan with 100 mins and 5GB of 4G and if they are using it on the iPhone 5 to tell me if its good? Do they throttle you? Thanks!

I'm thinking of this:

Pay cash for iPhone 5 from TMobile
Cancel postpaid service in first month
Separately buy a BYOD SIM from TMobile
Activate online to the $30 100 minute plan

This all is based on my understanding that i can't just buy the phone and call TMo to switch from postpaid to $30 prepaid....

Am i missing an easier way?

Where is the $30 plan Tmobile prepaid plan??? Used to be available on Tmobile and on WalMart's website. Cant find it or maybe Tmobile doesn't want us to find it. If its available, why not make it a simple process?
