What is the web like that you get on the Real Paygo? Because I can't understand to simply listen on a phone I would be using it for this http://www.hamiltoncaptel.com/smartp...at_is_app.html assuming that what they say works for T-Mobile would also work here. If this app works smoothly, the phone would be on most of the day daily set to receive calls through this app and once in awhile make a call out with it.

I make very few calls and only text once in a blue moon as the very old saying goes. Other surfing is done on home computer.

Also would need to get a phone as I am currently on PagePlus, a Verizon MVNO. There the 3G I get is not fast & stable enough to use a different captioning app and do not have voice & data available at the same time to use the one from Hamilton. Thus, I am using 2 phones. One is used for Web CapTel like you would on a computer and the other to talk to whomever the call is with. It works but I would soooo like to get down carrying just one phone!

Any other comments also appreciated.

Pageplus paygo data rate is horrendous, but at least it has coverage.. Ptel has decent coverage in this area, and good paygo data rate, but not as good as pageplus...

At least, there was an agreement to try out Ptel, but in case the coverage is not acceptable (for this user), I need to port out the number.

I have searched this site, and learned that I would need a new SIM to port-in a number...

But..

What about port-out?

what would be the account number and password? It used to be the ESN when Ptel was CDMA... is it the SIM card number?

Did anyone try to port out of Ptel?

Thanks in advance...

I have been using my L9 on Ptel and loving it. Yesterday morning I get a notice about a system update (unidentified, does not say 4.1) and since I knew the JB upgrade was coming, I downloaded it (took about 5 minutes). It's a very nice upgrade and it makes for a smoother interface. The good news is that my MMS settings did not change and in fact, it seems that it makes sending a pic send faster. There is now a progress sending bar which is nice. It also installed a navigation app called Scout, but have not tried it out. I do see they have the paid version or free version. Kudos go to LG for this worthy upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1.2! Btw, HSN has these at $199. with flex pay and Amazon at $189.

Anyhow, I want to take advantage of the $20 off deal for a trip I'm taking to NYC in September (I'm from Canada). From what I read, unused top up cards are valid for up to one year from date of purchase, correct? And, depending on the value, once activated they're valid for their specific time period based on the value. Am I right on this? TIA.
