This has happened to me before.
I'm guessing you had text messages on your SIM card.
Since your SIM card can only hold 30 messages, your phone read the SIM card memory as low and displayed the memory low message.
When in fact, the PHONE text message memory was fine.

What I did was I just erased all the SIM card messages and I could hold up to around 500 without a warning.

Recent call duplicates

On my previous MOTOs, only the last call to the same number would show in recent calls. In the new AT&T V9, all calls show. Is there a way to change so that only the last call shows?

Really?
If a person called in at say, 2:54PM this afternoon, it would show.
But if they called in again at say, 3:25PM later, then the 2:54PM entry would get erased.

Even if I missed the call or if I picked up.

There is an exception.
The phone will consider 1-555-555-1234, 555-555-1234, and 555-1234 different numbers and will record them each separately.

Main Menu>Messaging>Message Inbox>Press * and it should switch to SIM Card Messages.

Delete those.
And make sure you go into your Message Setup (Message Inbox>Setup) and make sure the storage location is set to your phone.

Really! My 2 previous MOTOs behaved as you say. The V9 does not erase the earlier calls, and I'd like to change this.

Has anyone has a problem of the screen flashing when scrolling through menus? The thing will sometimes flash once for 1/4 of a second on some menus. Nothing serious happens though, just a minor annoyance.

This's on an Asian V9 which I bought from a Singapore telco. I'd hate to go down to a service centre. Haven't been to any service centre for the past 4 yrs.

S/W version is R263313_AS_U_A0.02.07R2. The only mod I did on this phone is to remove the bootup and shutdown screens by deleting the 2 files.

OK, I'll let you two off the hook here. This behavior has been tweakable via SEEM for quite some time on many, many models of phone. Not all phones come with the same settings, of course.

Further debranding without losing your bookmarks - I have quite a few bookmarks already saved and didn't want to just blow the following file away:

/a/DL_DB_BKMR_RECORDS

Copy it and open it in a hex editor. The lines that begin with 11 denote a new bookmark entry - it should be pretty obvious.

The next byte denotes whether the bookmark entry is locked (01) or unlocked (00). Note that the AT&T entries (Cellular Video, Chat, etc) are all locked against deletion. Change the second byte in each record from 01 to 00 and save the file back to the phone. Restart the phone and viola (sic) - you can delete the previously locked bookmarks.

Very nice hytran. Good to see that at least one of the old masters is still going strong. :buddies:

Hmm. Curious to see how many V9 owners have this problem.

Lately, my left touch key on the outside flip doesn't respond very well.
It either just doesn't work of I have to stick my whole finger on top of it and actually push down to get a response...
=/

Anyone else have this problem?
I think I got a buggy V9.

I want to warranty exchange it in, but I want to wait for the black/blue V9 to come out before I do that.
Hmm.
Any ideas?

I still have the issue of my phone randomly restarting itself.
It's either when I'm texting or using the Media Finder.

They all have poor response on the left touch key. Dont ask me why but I have had like 6 Razr2's V9's & V8's and every single one had poor touch response on the left touch key. Some worse than others but definitely they all suffer this defect.
