Using Windows XP and a DLink Bluetooth adapter I have no problem connecting to my V9 with MPT.
I can pair with Windows but when I try to use the OBEX file transfer I have to "grant" access from the phone side each time I navigate down to a new folder - any idea how I can grant once or permanently set this? I unpaired and repaired and no better.
How-to Back-up the Files on your Phone
1. Have your phone connected via cable and start-up p2kCommander. You should see this:

2. Now you want to go to the right drop-down like you see on the picture and select "/a P2k Phone system":

3. p2kCommander should now read all the files on the /a drive of the phone. You'll know it's done when the left bottom corner says "xxxx filenames loaded in zzzz milliseconds", where xxxx is the number of files on your /a drive and zzzz is the amount of time it took to load. It should look like so:

4. Now you want to click the whitespace on the left side of p2kCommander. Now right click it and select "F7 - New Folder". Name this folder /a as this is the drive you're in; you want to keep the folder/file structure just like you see it on the phone:

5. Once you've created an /a folder on your hard drive you want to double click the /a folder on the phone (right) side of p2kCommander. You should see a folder called "mobile" and a lot of files. You'll want to make a new folder on the left side called "mobile" in the same way you made your "/a" folder:

6. Now that that's done select all the files (but not that mobile folder) on the right side by holding down SHIFT key and pressing the down key until they're all selected. Now click on the copy button like so and p2kCommander will copy all the files you selected to the left side. It should look like this:

7. Now do this for each folder you have on the phone. Make sure to keep the folder/file layout/structure the same on your hard drive as on the phone. This will make it easier to place the right files in the right places on the phone if you ever need to restore something.
How-To Back-up the Seems on your Phone
1. Have your phone connected via cable and start-up p2kCommander. You should see this:

2. Now you want to go to the right drop-down like you see on the picture and select "P2K phone seems":

3. p2kCommander should now read the seem index on your phone. It will list it as folders; each folder contains the seem with that name/index:

4. Navigate to the seem you want to back-up; in this example we're going to back-up seem 0032_0001 so navigate to the 0032 folder. Double click it and it should open and show a file called "0032_0001.seem". Select this file and click the copy button.

5. p2kCommander should have copied seem 0032_0001 into the folder on the left side. To confirm this you should see the following line at the bottom left side "download seem: 0032_0001.seem":

6. To get back to the seem index double click on the ".." line above the seem listed on the right side. Now back-up each seem you want a copy of using the same steps we just used; important seems you'll want backups of are 00a2, 0032, 004a, 004e, 005b, and 0126:

Yes, I have the same problem on 2 V9's. I thought it was just me on the first phone but when it happened with the second one, I figured it was the nature of the keypad.Quote:

I played with it for a few minutes and got it off - press firmly in the center of the bottom end of the cover and press up, towrds the top of the phone - it just slides up and a little out where you can get a fingernail under it.Quote:

If you look at the manual, you will see the reference to GPS. The phone automatically sends out your location on a regular basis.
Could you tell me what page? It's not in the index or table of contents and I couldn't find anything on gps flipping through the pages?Quote:

It may be in the manual, but I dont think it applies to the AT&T version. I know that my V8 has location based services but there is no option for it when using it on the A&T network. (shrug).Quote:
