trying to find info on the stupid reoccurring request in the V9 internet access "Yes, Always Ask".
No luck in a search You'd think they'd give the option the just do what you want without the Microsoft attitude that we're all dummies.
Thanks
Huh? Oh, uh...ok, yeah.Quote:

Sadly I beleive not.(notice in the pics I'm on edge, great reception though) The hk version is the same model that George Knighton had but in the graphite color. The euro version's 3G I beleive runs in 2100 because the flex version isQuote:

This is the response I got from an HK vendor on eBay..

Dear customer, thank you very much for your interest in our prodcut. The current version on the V9 only support WCDMA 2100. Currently V9 is not available in GSM 850/1900 version.

Owners of the HK variant might be interested in the UK/EU files, and the other way around.Quote:

That particular vendor found out the hard way. He's the vendor who sold me my HK V9 after guaranteeing that it would work on 850/1900 WCDMA.Quote:

On the good side of things, he ships very quickly and now that he understands what he's selling I doubt anybody would have any issues with him. :-)

You're going to be surprised how fast the V9 handles EDGE, though.Quote:

There were many times that I ran the test at dslreports.com/mspeed and got results on the HK variant that were close to the theoretical limit for EDGE (over 200K).
ya in knowQuote:

one day one of you masterminds will crack generic US HDSDPA!
But it's not in the radio anywhere that anybody can find it.Quote:

With the V9, however, at least so far to those of us who have looked, it appears that there are two WCDMA radios. You have either the 2100 radio or you have the 850/1900 radio, and the three frequencies do not seem to exist in a single radio.
I guess that one of us who owns both phones and who has a lot of spare time could remove the USA 850/1900 radio and install it in an HK phone w/out touching the resident memory, but who knows what other issues that'll raise.
And only idiots like me are going to buy two phones just to put the insides of the two of them into one perfect phone.
guy 3G in High Definition??!? Now thats pro!Quote:

I was thinking more along the lines to taking an AT@T or rogers V9 and being able to finally have a generic software vs flashing an hk variant which we all know has 2100Quote:

Just a note for those that do the update. I did the update last week and I cannot play any of the games I had saved on my microsd card. The phone says "only accesible on originating device" so I can no longer play them which sucks cuz I had like 19 games on there.Quote:

Is this a known issue with V9? or was I simply unlucky to get a bad one?
I would swap it out. The v9 has better reception
mine does this too & i'm not sure why. i think that it might have something to do with initial registration on the 3g network becuase if you force the phone to gsm 850/1900 & reboot it doesn't exhibit the same results.Quote:
