Does anyone have a problem with getting the battery cover off? Mine is a pain in the A** to get if off! I'm still within the 30 day satisfaction period - don't want to return it if others are having the same problem - I took so much time to edit the seems and got it unlocked as well.

Mine too. It is darn near impossible compared to my V8. I like it, I've had plenty of moto phones in the past with battery covers that don't fit perfect so I love how the cover has no play. Keep the phone.Quote:

When I create an appointment in the calendar that has a reminder, there is an "alarm" icon on the main screen at all times. Any way to disable this?
Couple of quick questions for you guys that own one..
1) How is the recent calls set up? Since it's the old Moto UI does it have received, outgoing and missed as seperate categories or is it all one list that you have to filter like the Linux software?
2) What selection of wallpapers are included on the phone? same as Z6/V8?
3) Is the clarity of the display/graphics equal to that of the V8?
4) Is the sound quality up to par with the V8 in terms of ringers and mp3's?
5) Has the previous Synergy UI lag been taken care of now that the processor is faster on this phone ?

I think that you would have to get a different plan for the V9, the iphone has a data plan that doesn't include support for Cingular video which I believe is supported by the V9. I have a Cingular branded Nokia N75 that I share with my iPhone's sim card for 3G use with my MacBook Pro (doesn't cost me extra) and I tried going to Cingular video and it gave me a message saying I needed to subscibe to one of AT&T's MediaNet plans if I wanted to access At&T's video service. So you will have to decide if it's worth your while to pay more for a data plan for the V9 or add a MediaNet service to your current iPhone data plan. I did pay close to full price for the N75 on Ebay. If you plan to walk into an AT&T store to buy the V9 and want to keep your iPhone and it's data plan, you will be charged full price for the phone. The discounted prices floating around this thread are for new accounts only, don't know how to buy a phone at the discounted price and keep your existing plan. New phones always require new accounts for purchase at the subsidized price. People always cry about being tied to AT&T for 2 years for getting the iPhone, check around, every cellphone carrier has the 2 yr sign up agreement. Didn't matter which cellphone provider got the iPhone, if you wanted one, you would have had to get a 2 yr deal. Plain stupid for people to try to use that as a gripe against the iPhone.Quote:

I like having on screen reminders. One of the BIG problems with older versions of Synergy is that you never new when you had events or alarms set. ALL other phone manufacturers have always let you know by an on screen icon when you had an alarm/event set.
Motorola was about 6 or 7 years too late in catching up with that one. I for one am glad they have on screen reminders now.
Just read through this whole thread and my two most burning questions about this phone have not yet been addressed.
How exactly does multi-tasking work on the RAZR V9? Namely, how do you switch from one application to another? And is there a limit to how many things you can have running simultaneously?
And regarding multi-press shortcuts- On my old V551, I could assign an almost unlimited number of custom shortcuts for just about ANY function or menu on the phone. You simply highlighted the menu item you wanted to create a shortcut to, and then held down the menu key. At that point you could assign a numeric shortcut code from 1 to 49, and then access that new shortcut from ANYWHERE on the phone.
Eg; I had a shortcut for the web set to menu-4-1, and another shortcut set for my text messaging menu set to menu-2-1. WHILE browsing the web (no need to close the browser) I could simply hit menu-2-1, compose and/or read a text message, and then when I hit the end key it would automatically go back to where I was in the browser.
This is also very convenient for times when the soft-keys are not accessible (ie; when your already doing sometihng on the phnoe, but temporarily want to bring up the calculator or something without losing what your currently working on).
Seems to me like Motorola got rid of this functionality after the triplets series. WTF? :doh: What good is a 500MHz processor if I can't fully utilize it?!
Only problem is my calendar has daily events so the icon pretty much never goes away so it dosen't really serve a purpose for me. It's always there.Quote:

I made these today and wanted to share them. I used P2KCommander 4.9.3 to do this mod.
Step 1:
1. Add the 001 and 002 FLP's to a/mobile/system
2. Delete the lighting-patterns.manifest in a/mobile/system file and replace it with the one in the zip.
3. Restart the phone.
4. Now Go into Audio and select either Flicker or Pulse
5. Enjoy!

You should make the police funlights like i have for my v3xx. It makes the red and blue lights flash back and forth when a call comes in.
