dideesay with wat?
maybe they wanna make people get iphones so they can charge more for the service plan they insist you get for that ...better way is to get a chineze ifone clone (with 3g built in it at the correct frequency ...beware some of them are called 3g but don't have 3g in reality ...they don't have 3g in china but they make all our stuff) ...just make sure it's unlocked and you throw your sim in there and use your unlimited data plan and you're in business!!
No, they didn't say what was replacing the V9x but if it's true that the online store isn't selling the V9x anymore, then it was a very short lived phone.
I was lucky enough to score one on Craiglist for $100. I love this phone. I called AT&T and they gave me an 8 digit unlock code that worked. I can confirm the Z9 required a 15 digit unlock code.
I have no idea why these phones have disappeared. If I had to guess my thoughts would be:
1) They have a bunch of Z9s they want to pump out and know they will sell faster if they are not also selling the V9X
2) They have the Tundra which has PTT and provides another revenue strem by selling the service.
3) They see the identical looking Sprint I9 coming down the pike with 3.2 camera and PTT...perhaps a similar model for AT&T is in the works? And maybe this production line is cranking out the new models and not the old.
My guess is that AT&T is very happy with the performance results of this phone and knows a little upgrade is required and will boost the camera and add PTT. In the meantime they have the Z9 and Tundra to sell.
hey just getting into this modding stuff. I have downloaded the p2k commander however its not reading my phone i believe. It is saying no modem/p2k/usblan device found, not connected.
Please help...all i really want to do is have the fun lights on my phone. Thanks
I have a motorola v9
heres my phone info:R263311M_U_9C.13.37R_1_LP1103_USEMERALDATTUSR 26331
04D: LOCKED; AT&T US (Monolithic);Language Pack 1103
but the fact they sell it now or not is immaterial...you bought it from ATT and they must, per law in the USA, supply you with unlocking instructions on request. I have a 2005 vintage razrV3 and in 2008 they cheerfully sent me an email to unlock it which took almost the entirety of 2 minutes to acomplish...contact them again and request they send you the code again for that ...they have no reason to deny you that.
Well i called up ATT and gave them IMEI number to unlock my RAZR2 V9X. Surprisingly they did not find it. Now a ticket is raised and they have sent to Motorola.
Var89, I've dont that a ton of times then about four hours later you get a code that does't work.
your imei # is in your phone ...you discover it by entering *#06# on your keypad and it will display your imei# ...accuracy is a must as any slight error and all bets are off ...if you have the receipt, it should show that on there if you purchased it from AT&T ...unless it was a mom&pop store ...if that, call or write to the store for a copy of the receipt...then hold AT&Ts feet to the fire; they should know everything from your cell phone number when you subscribed with them even if that number is now someone elses...
They tried to provide the unlock code on phone itself. But they could not find it. I talked them for 15 min. They searched for unlock code using my IMEI but they did not get it, saying nothing found. So they mailed Motorola about it. Now they will have to revert back.

AT&T does NOT provide an unlock code or search for it while you are on the fone with them...something is wrong with all this ...AT&T has a "unlock department" that creates the code and they use e-mail to send the code with clear instructions to you how to acomplish the unlock ...it is highly simplified. You never speak with the unlock department; the call center employee takes your info, walks you through determination of the IMEI from your fone, and creates a "ticket" ...you then get email confirmations and follow up until the process is done and you finally get the code. The code is calculated by the unique IMEI of each phone; AT&T does not need any record of anything to do it. I don't know why you can't get it, unless it was NOT purchased or used on an AT&T account ever.
I just hung up the phone from being given the unlock code for a V2 9X. I have done this twice before as I intend on using the phone in Thailand on Business
Well I purchased V9X from Motostore website US.Quote:

what is the deal with the v9x??? i will be upgrading my cell in just a few months and was seriously considering this phone....then like overnight...at&t took it off the online site and no longer offering it there...and when i was in my local store paying bill and looking...they had z9 slider and only a few v9x's she said.....so i gather it is being discontinued especially since not offered on line anymore and with just 2 or 3 in the local store and that is it.
if this is the case...what is to replace it..anyone heard??? my v3xx is still going strong...i may just keep it...the next thing would be either a blackberry or iphone which i am not really fond of by any aspects....would prefer a flip like the v3xx...been a great phone for me and no problems out of it what so ever....
Does anyone on here have both the V8 and V9?
The V8 has the microphone near the number 6. The V9 has the microphone hole down by the flip bumper Pad.
Which one picks up your voice better?
both the v8 and v9 have the crystal talk algorithm ...my sis has the v9x and the clarity is astonishing! ...dunno about the mic in the v8 tho...
send me the v9 and I'll buy you a cup of soup!
That must be some awesome soup.Quote:

Out @ Moto store.
AT&T paid a portion of the production price for these phones. They expected the GPS service to make a profit on the MOTO™ Z9n for at&t
MOTO™ Z9n for at&t as well as the MOTORAZR 2™ V9x for at&t

The plan did not work.........
Both are history.....
Take care of yours they were very costly phones for AT&T.
