How to transfer files to and frm LG VX5400
I tried OBEXing an mp3 ringtone that I put on my old razer v3c onto it but it doesn't support that "OBEX Profile". Has anyone had success getting custom ringtones or photos off the LG VX5400 (verizon version unfortunately)? I'm guessing I'd either have to buy a bluetooth usb adapter or the official cable for my computer then unlock the phone somehow via a seem or firmware like I did with my v3c. However, I couldn't find any info about anyone getting anything on or off this phone.
Any help would be appreciated :)
thank you all for the info
Being totally computer, electronic and otherwise challenged, it was a great relief to find you guys on the line explaining how to transfer data to and from computer to cell phone. It took me for a while to figure out what Bitpim and the other stuff meant, but I finally got it.
To elaborate for the benefit of other challenged ones: BitPim is a program that allows you to view and manipulate data on phones. The program is self-explanatory Ė I learned it in a flash.
Bitpim can be found here http://www.bitpim.org/#download
All you really need is a cable. I got mine from a Verizon store under 10 bucks.
Another excellent source is Myxer. Myxer allows you to make your own ring tones from your own cds or music in your computer files.
My two cents http://www.howardforums.com/newreply...=1&p=10335355#
Anybody figure out how to use it as a modem yet?
Wrong thread maybe, but ya BITPIM works, BLUETOOTH works, but cannot get it to work as a modem.
