SJA mobile alerts
Anybody looked into this? i saw it on my bill for $5. did a little research and it seems to me like a scam for 5 bucks a month, for absolutely nothing, and it's not even a sprint charge. here's the link to the info i read, so you may want to check.
SJA Mobile Alerts Fraud sorry if this has been posted before, i didn't search, but i frequent here and don't recall ever seeing anything about it. |
I got it too. It's for messages that come from 44550 short code. Reply to the message with "STOP ALL" and it should deactivate you. I called Customer Care and the only thing they can do is stop all text messages and that won't work for me. I'll see what happens on my next bill.....

Nextelhead,
Sprint has a way to block only Premium Text Messages from your account...just send an e-mail to eCare and say you want to block all "Premium Text Messages" on the account and it can be done - you just got a rep that was not knowledgeable... |
I wish I could say I am suprised. Thanks! I will call now.

Sure, no problem.
I had an issue after my phone was serviced at a service center. I left it there for about three hours and when I come home, I had like five texts saying I was just enrolled for some Horoscope, Dating and Ringtone service. I e-mailed eCare, they told me what to send to what service (like STOP to XXXXX) and got them removed. They were able to tell me when (as in date/time) I was enrolled in the service and it was when my phone was at the service center. Turns out that I went back the next day to have a talk with them about this matter and it had been done to everyone there that day. Turns out the tech at the Service Center was doing it - needless to say he is not there anymore. The Store Manager said he did it to over 50 clients. Now, I wait for my phones when I take it there... Just be sure you don't get any daily alerts (like I did) from your bank or sports or anything like that cause it will block all of those too... |
Wow, that is shady!!
Why would a tech even do this?? What could the tech possibly benefit from by signing customers up?? It is good to hear, however, that the tech is no longer there..... |

This site is definitely a rip off. You have to put in your mobile phone number to register on the site, and as soon as you do, your charged $19.99 on your cell bill. They claim they will refund your money within 60 days if you are not satisfied with them, but don't hold your breath. I notified them as soon as I realized they zapped me, that was 9-20-08, I still have not received a refund, and the only way to contact them is through email, that never gets answered. Save yourself a HUGE headache, and stay away from this site. They are scam artists.
