Verizon Corporate store gives discount - now taken away.
So last week I upgraded from an XV6700 to the Samsung Omnia, taking advantage of my NE2 and what I was told would be an employee discount on my monthly access. I basically just went into the local Verizon store to get a hands-on feel for the Omnia and see where things stood with pricing and signing a new contract.
I work for a local Ford dealership so I told the rep this to check if I qualified for any employee type discounts on my new plan. After what seemed to be extensive checking the computers, making copies of my business card and health insurance card as proof of employment, she confirmed to me that I was eligible for a "Ford dealership" 15% discount on my monthly services.
She proceeded to apply this to the new contract and just informed me that it could take 1 to 2 billing cycles to show up but I would in fact get the discount.
So I receive this in email today:

Dear xxxxx ,
Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless. We have received your request to add an employee discount to your current calling plan (Register Your Line) for the mobile number given. Unfortunately our records do not indicate that your employer currently qualifies for Employee Discounts.
Only employees of those Ford Dealerships that have an agreement with Verizon Wireless qualify for the discount. As a result we have removed the monthly access fee discount recently added to your account. This information will be reflected under the "Monthly Charges" section of future statements. Your reference number is xxxxxxx.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Customer Service which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing *611 from your wireless phone or call 1-800-922-0204 from a land line phone.
We appreciate your business. Thank you again for choosing Verizon Wireless.
Sincerely, xxxxxxxx
