R451C Prepaid Service Disabled Error
Long story short, someone tried to use the Code Entry Mode option under the Prepaid menu to refil their card for the month. It didn't work of course so they refilled it online. After that it showed online it was refilled but just kept saying Prepaid Service Disabled when the phone was trying to be used. Now the phone is basically useless because everytime you try to do something it says Prepaid Srvice Disabled. Calls and texts still come in I just can recieve or read them. I also checked the website
From what I have found, this happens while messing around with the Code Entry Mode. I know Straight Talk customer service is terrible and they don't "open" until 9:00 a.m. so does anyone know how to solve this problem. I have searched and searched and came up with nothing except keep trying customer service which i will probably end up having to do.
Success in overcoming "Prepaid service disabled" problem
Success at last ! On my fourth try at calling Straight Talk tech support, 877-430-2355, I finally got through to an agent, a very polite person who smoothly guided me through entering the code necessary to get the phone working again.
She told me the reason the phone stopped working was that the user had reached the "Code Entry" submenu and then did an absolute no-no, namely entering code in the codebox. She said the user should only enter code there when directed by tech support.
Straight Talk management needs to introduce a safeguard to stop people entering code when they should not. Like a warning message "Do not enter code unless directed by help desk."
