Looks like they lit up around 75 miles east of Dallas with LTE. Looks nice now with the coverage.

You can now drive 348 miles from north of Denton TX to south of San Antonio on I-35 and have LTE all the way.

I'd equate that to Tmobile having a big pipe but no fire hose so you can't use it down the street if you need to.

It's what the carriers agreed to do so the consumer doesn't get "billshock". No idea if it can be turned off.

I actually see it as good news with a slight loss of subscribers. Better pricing on plans and better retention deals for the customers.

The hole in the middle of Texas with Verizon actually has 3g evdo from west central wireless. Sprint has data coverage there from them. Overall Texas is covered best by att.

I switched to T-Mobile a couple years ago from At$t. I couldn't get on the phone fast enough to go back, dead zones in "good coverage" outside, GPRS data, constant dropped calls on interstate.

4/2 now, showing updated areas of LTE.

Top looks like lte, bottom could be 850 1x and evdo on the bottom. Around here Verizon has some towers with 1x, evdo and lte all in the same panel.
